I got mine, and I like it - a LOT. I own other gimbals big and small, all Feiyu, and have previously owned a Snoppa Atom and a Smooth 4 (I didn't like either). I like this for it's size, build quality, REPLACEABLE battery, dependable bluetooth connection, and the little magic tricks in the app. In my opinion, this is the best small smartphone gimbal of 2019. Bravo, Zhiyun, you nailed it.

After much review and comparison to the DJI mobile 3 I bought the Q2. VERY happy with this gimbal. Love the all metal construction. He gimbal feels very solid in the hand. The phone holder is slick once you get use to it. Motors are strong! Initially out of the box it does everything as advertised, easily. Love this thing. Built like a little BSH!

I just got mine, getting used to the controls. This thing is small, which is great. Also I can add tripod legs to the bottom or even attach it to a monopod and use it like a jib! I have the iphone 11 pro max and when you press the record button 3 times the motor stays out the way of the lens! So far I'm happy I got this over the Osmo Mobile 3.

I almost picked up DJI Osmo mobile 3, until I saw this new gimbal from zhiyun and it sure enough it piqued my curiosity and got me interested. Now I just need to see some reviews with iphone 11 pro (ultra wide lens) and see if the rear motor (the roll axis) gets in the way of that 120 degree field of view. I want to like this product, but I’m struggling at every turn. In wide mode, you can see the gimbal (I have my phone almost off the edge and it’s still visible if I use the “selfie mode” shortcut) The new firmware to keep the motor out of ultra-wide mode works if I move at the slowest pace possible, but even then, has a chance of showing the motor in frame. I’m on an iPhone 11 pro and I’m compromising a lot of features to make this gimbal work for me

I love the Zhiyun Smooth Q2 but it would have been better if it had a normal portrait mode(so it can be put on a tripod), a stronger application like the DJI MIMO, better object tracking, it should have a tucked in roll motor (so it can be put on a tripod), a mini tripod and a carry case, a zoom rocker (which would work on the native camera application and other applications like FILMIC pro), it should have collaborated with FILMIC pro like the DJI OSMO gimbals, gesture control, it should have a phoneGo mode where the gimbal reacts to movements really fast and counterweights. This is constructive criticism for the betterment of the product and company. Thank you.

Done testing the Q2 whole day today.. the three hits of firmware upgrade for the ultra lens simply not working.. it is basically something as a bad cure..

It won't work with your Samsung Galaxy s10 plus with supcase on as well as iPhone 11 pro max with supcase on since cellphone holder is way too small for the larger phones. No vertigo zoom option, not ideal for the larger phones since control arms touch the phone and upon gimbal power off your phone fell down quickly and can cause the breakdown of the phone camera lenses or phone itself.

@Zhiyun-Tech, will you soon be creating tutorials to help users with advanced settings like, calibration, PTZ, Dead zones, etc? I found these when I went into Settings>Switch to Normal Camera>Settings, and I found Camera (Optimize, Equlibrium, Quality, Excellent), Calibration, PTZ, General and Live. Thanks!

Every video review talks about vortex mode but never shows how to actually do it using buttons. What mode and buttons are you pressing down and how many times?

After updating the 1.98 firmware on Zhiyun Smooth Q2, It has started vibrating while shooting upward facing Vortex Mode. It was absolutely fine when it was on 1.97. Please fix this issue as soon as possible. If possible, improve on object tracking and add gesture control for start stop recording. Among a lot of choices of mobile gimbals in the market I picked your Q2 because i like to shot rotating sky videos using vortex mode. Enable “zycami” app support for Q2 if possible. Improve object tracking. Add gesture control for start stop recording because many users shot by themselves. If you really want to be at the top of smartphone gimbal market improve on above points otherwise you guys know the current market competition. I am planning to buy your newly announced Crane 2S for my dslr. I might change my mind only because of your app performance. Otherwise your products are awesome. I always recommend people to buy your products over DJI but this is what happened to me with my Q2. I hope you will definitely address my issues mentioned above. Your well wisher and user.

Just got mine. I wanted to clarify if we can upgrade the firmware via the app without plugging it in the laptop. I don't have a laptop hence was checking if Incan upgrade my gimbal firmware via the ZY App. Thanks!!!

when using motion timelapse, how do we shoot in portrait? how do we resolve the issue that we are capturing the axle of the gimbal at the corner of the camera? thanks

Great tutorial. Just one problem. At 4:40 you say that the next mode is selfie mode. But it's not where any of the other modes are and there's no explanation as to how you got into selfie mode. After some Googling I found out that you have to press the power button 3 times to enter selfie mode. Also, it won't work in combination with ultra wide angle mode. Which is unfortunate considering that the motor shows up even in my normal wide angle. I fixed this by moving the phone until the gimbal is out of the shot but it drains the battery very quickly this way. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Besides that, it's a great little gimbal. I just got it for Christmas and I'll definitely start vlogging with this instead of my DSLR on a gorilla pod. That heavy setup was giving me shoulder problems.

After pairing on my iPhone 11 Pro, the record button control the volume in my Filmic Pro app. in the native camera app, it properly controls the "take a photo" option. What's up with that?

Sharing the few modes that is most useful to me: 1. hold joss stick 3 sec = sleep mode 2. triple click record = hide axle (very useful) 3. portrait mode => FAST twist handle left (from vertical to horizontal) to get into portrait mode, then FAST (FAST!!!) twist handle towards yourself to hide axle 4. custom motion timelapse setting > switch to normal camera > video mode (4K since most likely part of the scene is unfortunately blocked by axle) film icon > custom moving timelapse here, cant resolve the WT automation bug. But could use Lock mode and adjust start and end. Also didnt managed to use this in portrait mode unfortunately, so i shoot in 4k and crop. Anyone has solution, pls share.

Great introduction very compelling, almost pressed buy, then felt short changed that the mini stand was not included (for £109). Looked again then opted for the Moza Mini MX for £30 less (including the stand)

I sold my smooth 4 and bought the q2. Was confused between the osmo 3 but finally decided to go with the q2. I use a note 10+ and my wife uses a 11pro max, both heavy phones so q2 seemed the better option.

I have some visual impairment and use a magnifier on my iPhone to help with reading. But I find it difficult to keep the phone steady which is annoying. Do you have any comment on using the Q2 to help with reading

Please Help - I bought Zhiyun Smooth Q2 recently and installed the app on iphone 11. while using the ZY Play app to shoot / record the videos get stored in the app. once i import the content and try to edit in Premier Pro CC i dont get the video only audio is picked up, please advise what is the problem or is there any option which lets the recorded footage directly into the iphone memory. Awaiting your kind reply as this would be very helpful. Thank You.

Thank you for the video. After watching it I got so excited I ordered it. You forgot to mention it doesn't have zoom option and also, I still cant get the subject tracking work properly. In other world it does have that option but no tracking at all. Could you please post a video how to use the subject tracking on this gimbal. Thank you!

Hello! I just did the firmware update and now the gimbal will only flash four white lights at once. It’s fully charged and I placed the iPhone on the gimbal before pairing. It worked fine before the firmware update. It’ll also flash one red light under PF.

Just bought one few days ago. First try, I can rotate 360 the image with vortex mode, but after firmware update it won't rotate; the gimbal rotate 360 but the picture does not follow rotation, it keep steady instead. Did I forget something in the setting?

Fucking exited for this product crazy shit is I never ever thought about getting a gimble until now since I got a lens and mic for my iphone and bam just at the correct year, time and month the Q2 came out and super budget friendly. quite nice but unfortunately not usable for the new iphone 11 pro max. You can always see the gimbal in Wide Angle mode. This should be corrected in the software (press Record button 3 times).

do you also have the problem where the Q2 charging cable is facing the wrong side of the phone?? It's a USB micro to USB c. .and the micro is 90 degree pointing wrong side..

Quick question: I tried mine on my phone (poco f2 pro) and mom's galaxy A8+ 2018. The A8 sits perfectly in the clamp and is straight on its back against the foam on the clamp while the F2 Pro is a bit off at the top. I believe both phones are as thick as each other whien i put them side by side.

I got red blinking light on the PF mode. Does the gimbal need a full charge?
