Beautiful scene. Gao looks stunning and she managed to touch the emperor's heart even if only for a moment. Life was tough for the ladies of the harem but then it was hard for everyone in China at the time.

Nah, she was legit evil throughout her whole character. The only main villain character I felt bad for and was shown very well to be mentally scarred for a good reason, was consort Hua in legend of Zhen Huan. She was evil but many times shown how pathetic she was.
