@@SippingTea2x go googling or pick up your dictionary and find out what "retro" or "vintage" means. Giving 90s or 00s vibe intentionally has been one of huge trends in music, fashion, or etc. I cannot believe i should explain this. do you think they don't know or have not listened to 90s, 00s western music? almost every musician whereever he or she is from, must have the playlist for that era. even I have one. Retro music stems from the 'respect' for the musics of that era, not from the 'ignorance' of them.

@@105-bx7qm I obviously know what those things are but I don’t think that’s what they were going for. That’s what YOU’RE trying to imply. Korean culture has always been notorious for ripping off of American culture whether it’s with music, food, clothing, products, etc. This is just another one of their attempts. Not saying it’s a bad song but just 10 years + behind what music has become and they are not helping to evolve music if they are just going to think about the passed because any one can do that and it’s called lazy talent.🇰🇷🇺🇸

If you think making retro vibe music is itself not a problem, then whoever makes it does not matter. 2) Let's assume that you are absolutely okay with making retro-vibe music itself. Then, your logic is like following: (a) Every Korean artists rip off American culture and it is problematic. (b) Zico and Jennie drop the retro vibe music. (c) Therefore, their music is just another instance of ripping off American culture and it is problematic. If (a) is true, then (c) is automatically true. For the goal of proving (c), (b) does not matter anymore. If your logic is like (a)~(c), then, you're already presuming the CONCLUSION in your PREMISE. Assuming the very point you have to prove in advance is an logical ERROR. If you think (a) is absolutely true and do not want to change your mind, then whatever I say or whichever evidence introduced, Zico and Jennie's song is just another instance of 'ripping off'. 3) Is (a), that is, "Every Korean artists has ripped off American culture and it is problematic" true? It is your burden to prove, and I do not want to dig in this issue. BUT let me say a few things. (3-1) It is usually said that the differentiation with typical American pop is one of reasons for the success of K-pop, and it looks quite true that there IS disparity between them. (3-2) If you think "hey, even though there is some disparity, just adding some extra elements to American culture is not enough. It is not ORIGINAL.", then why is it wrong exactly? what is it to be something 'original'? Is American culture original? Almost every cultural elements works by 'adding something more'. (3-3) By the expression "the evolution of music", what exactly have you in mind? Should music 'evolve'? Throwing out all the past things and making ABSOLUTELY new thing is the only way of evolution? Is it possible?
