Because of y’all journey I started my sons loc journey when he was 2. For the last 1.5 yrs they have been growing so much. He’s had 2 pulled out by his little brother so we’re now in the process off growing those areas back🤦🏾‍♀️. Other than that I let him decide when he’s ready to get his hair done, I’m a mom of 4 boys so not having to fight over hair is definitely a battle I’m not fighting lol.

Also! How did you know he was ready for locs at his age? My son is the same age Zion was when you began his and I’ve been contemplating it but he’s so fickle so I’m not sure we’ll be able to commit to his. He sees mine and his Godmom’s so he’ll tell us he likes them and has said he wanted locs but he hates having his hair washed and styled. I just keep it in cornrows in between maintaining. He also goes to my grandma during the weekdays and she’s big on “looking presentable” so when I had 2strands in his hair with the intention of locking, she kept talking about I need to do his hair and even combed some out at one point. Would you have any advice?
