I always say, that was the Fidget Spinner of my Time, altough i was a Smoker, good thing though i stopped with smoking but i still own and play with my Zippo, and i even say its also not useless to carry one, since you may encounter people who smoke, for example few of my friends smoke or a unlikely scenario but still plausible, you get stranded somehow and need to make fire. Edit: I just realized i do smoke weed xD Well i am high so my apologies, but i had to laugh after sending it, since i honestly wrote all that, but didnt thought about the Weed.

I knew of the trick. Attempted this a few times without knowing how it was actually done. The children spectating thought it was funny that I kept burning myself while I was wondering what i was doing wrong.

I know the basic one in the middle can wreck the hinge - in fact I bought a plain one expecting it to get sacrificed - but it's also not much harder after you can consistently get it to ping open to drag your index finger on the wheel and light it in one move. Probably with a little practice you could find a way to do that with the first two ones he showed too.

Nicely done.... I like doing tricks on my beater Zippo. All my other ones I don't do it too much don't want to accidentally drop it or loosen the hinge.

Ive got what I assume is an enamel coated zippo with a graphic printed on it, it suffers from hinge wiggle after doing the top pop a few times a day, i just open the zippo casing and squeeze the hinge with a pair of pliers. With a little practice doing this the hinge abuse is almost non existent. bear in mind metal fatigue will take its toll one day.

NOTE: I am thinking that Kerosene lasts much longer in Zippo lighters without evaporates less than using Zippo lighter fluid. Try it.

I did try kerosene but after a fuel refills my zippo Never worked again. Had to change all the cotton and wick. It got so gunked up in there.

Just passing by on this 3+ year old video and I’m reminiscing of my junior high school days with my zippo (I was a smoker back then). Another very simple trick, hold lighter in one hand (hinge facing down) and snap your finger to open the lid, rotate lighter upright and snap your finger against the roller to get a spark. On a sour note, I got caught smoking behind the school and the vice principal took my smokes and zippo (he was cool enough not to call home, but I never forgot my zippo was confiscated). While in high school (9th/10th grade?) I approached him and asking for my lighter back… he didn’t acknowledge he took it/no recollection. Mr. Silverdink (or Silver-richard as we referred to him, not face to face 😉)… if you’re still kicking and see this video, I live in the same town… have since stopped smoking… hope you enjoyed my zippo 😉. Thanks for the memories ✌️

Honestly, I love lighters and I love this channel. I have learned a lot with these videos over the last 2 or 3 months, but something interesting is that... I don't really smoke, yet I have gone really far on a recent shopping spree (I have bought 7 different zippos over the last 3 weeks, and I already had 3 on my collection 🤣🤣🤣😅😅😅). Also, I have 5 or 6 Imcos, 1 monopol lighter, 1 zippo stile copycat and even others whose names I can't even remeber (they're not really from famous brands). I still love my lighters though, all of them 😅😅😅 and I have several 🤭🤭🤭

Oi, thanks for the tutorial honestly got it down in a couple of minutes. The weight help with the first trick but the reverse is a lot harder still was able to do it a couple times. Like this is all you need to have a zippo. One good open. Otherwise it's just another lighter lol

So I’ve figured out how to pop it open and light it in 2 motions , like packin a can of Copenhagen. The down stroke pops it open and the finger that usually is the one making the packing sound on a can of Copenhagen, that finger is the one that strikes the wheel and lights. This is very bad for zippos especially cheap ones, can break a lid right off
