Now let's get this straight.. these wave are huge for South Florida, rest of the world, not that big a deal... on this episode of Haulover Boats we see some big yachts get moved around like the little boats do in the inlet and surfers catching a wave.

Otherwise everyone else stayed in. Cant mess with mother nature. She always wins. Nice to see no idiots on the water other than the one with the loose anchor. So, from watching a whole bunch of these out of fascination, it seems like coming in is an exercise in "surfing" the ocean swells moving up the inlet. Especially if you're going against a lowering tide. Going out seems to be more about keeping your speed from getting out of control and keeping the bow from going too high or too low. Oh, and not killing your crew when you go flying and smack back down.

A couple of questions. First how far out do you have to go before the waves calm down, or do they? Second I see the police boat, do they hassle you on the ocean to see if you have been drinking? Here in the Midwest on the lakes its not uncommon to be stopped 2 or 3 times a day on the weekend to see if you have been drinking then will also inquire if you have any weapons or drugs on the boat.
@ZipZapPower
@ZipZapPower 4 жыл бұрын
waves this big are uncommon, it can get pretty rough in the inlet and it does when the waves are small with wind and outgoing tide, the messy part is usually only around 100-300 yards from the mouth of the inlet and then it can be flat calm.. the cops don't do much of that in Miami

It looked like he was timing the wave , the boat actually stayed pretty level compared to others , and black smoke is exactly what you want to see when you accelerate hard on a diesel engine , It is probably better to charge in though , if you time it wrong or you do have a mechanical problem half in , you would be in trouble.

@@larryslemp9698 Yeah, you're right actually. I mostly looked at the profile of the boat, but if I had the money for one, I'd have the money to have them remove those stupid things or make them matte haha

how do you know the specs on a lot of these boats especially in a lot of your other videos? are you a member of the same marina or something? just curious because you usually get engine and hp also that can vary from boat to boat. just curious. and i love watching the older diesels rolling coal when the hit reverse. work those cats. its beautiful. nice videos.

thanks, just years of doing this and getting very good at research and knowing how to find what i'm looking for. The ID of boats usually adds about 8 hours to the edit time of a video.

One boat there had its anchor dangling. Bashing against the bow at every wave.

Sebastian is probably worse, you've got bigger swells up there. Haulover is interesting due to the amount of traffic and fancy boats.
