(1/3) Here's presenting a vlog 1 from Ziro Festival Of Music, which is an annual music festival that happens in Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh, in Northeast India. The vlog shows a glimpse of Ziro Valley, the night time experience of Ziro Festival Of music and a village walk through Hong Village to meet the Apatani tribals, who are local to Ziro Valley. Hey all! Thank you for all the love and appreciation for the video! I truly enjoyed my time in Arunachal and the warm and wonderful hospitality. I met a lot of people from different tribes and now I soon plan to return to Arunachal for another series of videos. A lot of people in the comments mentioned about the Apatani tribe's facial tattoos story. I just wanted to go on and say that I mean no offense to any tribe or do not mean to misrepresent facts. The real reason, that Devraj mentioned, that they have tattoos is, as a mark of distinction. And then he said that there is a story that the women also had the tattoos for protection, to make them less attractive for other tribes. Which he clearly stated is "one of the stories and not necessarily a fact". I know that now all the tribes live peacefully together. Which is great! But I have not objective to malign the facts. :)

Tanya, you covered our tribal world very nicely. I am sure your this video will give a good knowledge to people who never heard or been to my home Arunachal Pradesh. "people got big heart there. right?". Fortunately Arunachal is the only state in northeast India whose common speaking language is Hindi and that solves everything. I myself write songs in Hindi, English and Nyishi. I m from Nyishi tribe. Good Work Tanya Khanijow.

I thought all tribes are already converted into Christianity . How tolerant are tribes towards other religion I wanted to know since I fear Hindus will not be received well in parts of Nagaland ,Mizoram and Arunachal.

@@MegaNimbuz I have heard that hindus are not looked in good spirit in Nagaland and Mizoram but I think Arunachal and Manipur have Buddhist and hindus . I also don't know but newspaper suggest they are very religious Christians and normally don't like other religions.

What have you guys been smoking? Come on guys I have never been discriminated by the locals in my whole life than in my 5 years stay in mainland India. Wow you people are really ignorant, hindu is the majority in Manipur. In NE, Peope mind their own business and we don’t really care if you’re a hindu or non local untill you start interfering unnecessarily. Maybe it’s the human nature but we don’t like someone who doesn’t know shit about our ways and culture trying to dictate. #ProudNaga

Thank-you Tanya!! Your Vlog showed the rest of India a bit of NE! I wish all vloggers take the hardship, like you did, and visit us more often and realise we're very welcoming and not always hostile!! Also, NE India has alot of natural beauties that many foreign countries have. I'm sure whilst in Bali, you should have gone Ubud to see the Terrace farming of rice, I was taken for the same as a part of tour. And I laughed out loud, as it was very common in the hills of NE India. You're most welcome to Manipur, best time to visit is Oct - April with lots of local festival and musical concerts. You can try March for Yaoshang, the Holi festival of Manipur celebrated for 5 long days with lots of activities apart from colours! Thank you again! RK Yadav, yes there are lots of things to discover, Nagaland is not developed like other states, we are just starting our journey and we have a long way to go. What we can provide to our tourist are natural beauty, raw village life, different food, culture and traditions etc. Hornbill Festival is emphasis because during this festival one can experience different kind of culture, food, lifestyle, traditions of different tribe in Nagaland. So instead of travel to different parts of Nagaland, you got to experience everything in one stage or place. Do visit us and encourage us. Thank you.

Great work on the video. On the other hand, chalohoppo can take some measures to prevent damaging the flora and fauna in that area. For example the least they could do is place an organic and biodegradable handwash for people instead of industrial products which laced with chemicals. The same can be done with providing people with organic shower gels and shampoos. They can afford to organise such an event for 150 campers. A little extra effort and a little extra money for that effort isn’t gonna hurt anyone. I’m sure all the influencers participating in such events will take a note of this and make sure that the message is conveyed to the authorities concerned.

They actually already do quite a lot for making the camp as eco friendly as possible. Like the plates that he food is served in, are not one time use plastic plates. There are no single use plastic water bottles used at the camp. They have specially invested in life straw water purifiers to have drinking water available to campers without usage of big Bisleri water bottles. The hospitality industry (big hotels) also do the do as much for the environment. Well of course there's always scope for improvement, but by getting 150 campers on board, it's not like they are making a very heavy fortune to incorporate changes over night. :)

I understand. Obviously, not being a part of this event, I certainly am not aware of the initiatives Chalohoppo has taken to make the camp eco-friendly. I just posted some suggestions. I would like to point out that I never intend to disrespect anyone, any organisation or their efforts. I was just stating some suggestions. U have no idea how much we mainlanders wanna see Northeast. Sadly no one show its beauty. .only I have heard of it from my Manipuri and Mizo friends ..sadly not even a foreigner ever visit there. Amazing one! It is best to travel the North East India during festivals. You should also go to Manipur during Sangai festival (late November of every year) and Nagaland during Hornbill festival ( 1st week of December).

@Tuga_Tago, i think @Zeli_Ang meant that she's not 'mam' - because 'mam' is actually an informal dialect of saying Mother. it should be Ma'am or madame. Most people make the mistake of spelling it as Mam when it is Ma'am.

I belong to apatani tribe and I think its my responsibility to correct your misconception. Our ancestors didnt draw tattoos on their faces to make themselves ugly. Tattoos were a tradition. Girls and boys at young age, when they hit puberty drew tattoos on their nose, chin and forehead, as a sign of adulthood and they believed girls with tattoos to be more beautiful. when I asked my grandma why she drew tattoo, she replied she chose to draw it because girls look pretty with tattoos and nose-pin. So no tribe should be blamed or else a communal riot may start on social media and no false allegations should be made against Britishers as well.
