Mud Dogs thanks man. You’re right that I need to put up some more videos. I’m going to be building some bumpers soon and rebuilding some of the suspension, hopefully all before the Jeeping season officially gets under way for my family in May. Sounds like your Jeep plans are off to a good start. I’d advise you to have an end goal in mind and build toward that goal the first time and don’t do transitional building. Spend the money right the first time, versus wasting money by having to rebuild later on.

hi nice zj , i have 97 5.2 dana 60 front narrowed ford 2008,and some wierd dana 60 semifloat in the back. i like your front sway bar any details? with all this strech did you have to relocate fuel tank,steering box?
@lifelongjeeper4 жыл бұрын
moshe suharianu The front is moved forward 2” which was far as I could take it and still clear the pitman arm. I moved the frame end track bar bracket forward too. for the sway bar, I went with a bracket Iron Rock Offroad and Currie AntiRock. The bracket replaces the factory radiator support and increased your approach angle by a couple inches. I pushed the rear axle back 4” which was as far as I could go without having to move my gas tank. The upper control arms are triangulated so I could eliminate the trackbar which is really in the way. I don’t currently have rear sway bar, but am designing how to mount an AntiRock beck there too.

Could you tell me a run down of this rig?
@lifelongjeeper4 жыл бұрын
Chicago Rc Sure, it’s a ‘96 Grand Cherokee with built 5.9L engine swapped in, as well as the full niner interior. It’s all custom, home built with a 6” lift, long arms, and a 6” stretch. The axles are full width, locked Dana 60’s front and rear, with 4.56 gears and 37” Nitto Trail Grapplers. The transfer case is a doubler with a combined low range ratio of 7.13:1. Fender flares are JK Wrangler take offs that were narrowed to needed width to cover the tires. What else would you like to know?

@@lifelongjeeper that's sweet man. I've been watching your videos and was curious. I got a 97 green orvis 5.2 with the Dana 44 rear and 30 upfront. I've been hard on it and the rear spiders are slipping a little .I have the infamous crank no start and cant seem to figure it out. It's been a pain in the ass and once I get her back on the road I want to do some upgrades and I really like your rig. It performs very well and its not ridiculously lifted like I see most which is what I like

I really appreciate the reply. If you have any suggestions to the issue I'm having I'd love to hear them. Everyone I know has given up on their zjs and went to xjs and I'm not giving up on her.

Chicago Rc, do you have any blown fuses and does your gauge cluster still work? From my experience, a crank no start was caused by a shorted wire on my downstream O2 sensor. It was blowing a fuse in the engine bay PDC resulting in a no start and dead gauges. Another possibility is a faulty anti theft system. Try unlocking the Jeep with the key in the passenger door. Also, do you have fuel pressure? After cranking, press the shredder valve on the fuel rail. It should squirt some fuel out as it releases system pressure. (Obviously take caution in this regard.) I love a well built XJ, but still prefer the ZJ. All the rest of my family and Jeep friends have wranglers (mostly TJ’s) and I don’t get any respect because I don’t have a frame. Oh well, haters just hate.

@@lifelongjeeper the driver side of my windshield says "most hated" lol but yes I've checked fuses and relays, all are good. I have fuel pressure but it does sound like it's not getting fuel. I recently did the o2s, new magaflow cat with a whole new super 44 flow master exhaust. The gauges work and it shows I have half a tank and all the rest work on the cluster. I'm so confused because sometimes when cranking it everything will cut out electrical wise and I'll have to go shake the battery. I thought corrosion on the wire terminals and it wasn't. I cut back the cable and replaced them as far back as I could thinking i had a loss of connection. I replaced the battery and added another ground to the chassis too. I've opened the computer because people say it has known problems and it's all good no broken points or anything. So the no fuel issue I'm leaning towards crankshaft pressure sensor or a fuel pump. And for the electrical issue I have no clue. God I love this truck but its such a pain 🤦♂️ its never let me down til this started to happen. I'm going to check the o2, shredder,and PDC for the hell of it . I appreciate the reply my good sir and I hope you have a good safe new years!
