The Sony Z1R's are amazing tbh. In some ways, it's like a ZMF with a bit more 'V'

Great sincere authentic review! The pressure that you are referring to I really experienced with the Stellia and it caused me to reluctantly sell it. I love reverb/resonance. The best headphones I heard for reverb is the final audio sonorous X. I do want to hear the VC. Crossing fingers for CANJAM NYC.

Men,ZMF headphones my target one day.They are not cheap for me, but i will pay gladly for them when my wallet let me.Design,matereial quality the variable colours,comfort just other level.Those are beutiful!!!!

Thanks for the video. I see you take your glasses off a lot during these videos - maybe I missed when you've talked about it, but is that because you find it uncomfortable to wear glasses while wearing ZMF headphones, or Focal headphones as well? Either because of pressure or you feel you're breaking the seal and changing the sound? Or is it just random preference?

Just depends, but during impressions I try and remove my glasses so that there is no question about seal changing the sound profile. I haven’t had discomfort with my glasses and wearing any of my headphones, but I know others that do.

I missed it, working as nurse my hours are all over the board! Oh well, watching it now :) I was gonna ask with volume on these what’s your dial at (depending on music and mood and amp I am guessing will affect the decision)? On my Asgard 3 (only amp I have) I am ranging between 9 o’clock and 11 o’clock (low gain) with my Aeolus. I probably need an spl meter to gauge how loud that really is 😂🤣😂.

I use a SPL meter and usually listen at 75db to 80db with peaks in to the high 80db on higher listening levels. On the ECP T4 I tend to listen around 11-1 on the dial.

Regarding SPL meter I use a cheap one I bought off Amazon, just search SPL meter and any of the recommended ones will work... just know it will be off by a bit (usually louder) because of seal when on your head compared to measuring while holding the headphones, I usually add 3-5db to the reading bit that is also super inaccurate lol

@@TylersEclectic I appreciate the insight! I could see it not being the most accurate but ball park is what I am looking for and this sounds perfect! Maybe if I was bored I could do what zeos did and hollow out a foam block to place the headphones on and place the spl meter inside to get a more accurate reading while the headphones are captured in a more sealed environment..........but let’s be honest that would be a lot of work for a small benefit 😂🤣😂. In part because of your videos I ended up finally making the purchase and ordered a pair of VC!! Just waiting for them to ship now but I wanted to check and see if you've had the chance to pad roll much and whether you have any favorite pads that you would recommend getting with the vc?

I’ve done a fair bit… the stock pads I keep going back to though! I like the hybrid ones as well and the solid Auteur pads. But, I always find my way back to the stock pads.

@@John-wk8ig I believe so, I also confuse them with the Universe Lambskin lol those are the two I use the most. The Be2 pads are also highly praised, but I preferred the other ones more.

I’m trying to decide whether the Open or Closed would sound more pleasing for jazz, classical, folk, and world music. I listen to some rock but not that much. I have an upgraded Cary 300SEI with two Genalex Golden Lion 300B power tubes, two Sylvania Bad Boy input tubes, and one Hytron preamp tube. Any suggestion which might be a better synergy?

Hmm… I think that for a more balanced sound the Verite Open is the way to go. VC is excellent, but for some the reverb, and slightly elevated highs can be a bit much. VO is an easier recommendation especially with the genres you prefer. I personally love both VO and VC, so take it for what it is ha!

@@TylersEclectic Thank you for the reply. I've always leaned towards open back headphones so I guess that settles it. I currently own the Sennheiser 800S with ToneKraft cable but after getting my amp upgraded by Stuart Jones (Chapman Audio Systems) and adding an Orange Fuse, the 800S has become the weak link in my system...not that I'm complaining. But it's time to start saving for my end-game headphone. Any suggestion for what headphone cable would be a good synergy?

@@LorenzoNW I have the Verite Silver cable from ZMF, but Norne also makes good cables, on the higher end. I also like periapt cables. I’m more into the look and feel for cables though.

Hi sorry can you compare between the VC and VO in terms of sub bass, low end rumble ? VO has slightly emphasis of mid bass punch ?

I’d say the VO has better “rumble” or sub bass and has slightly more punchier dynamics in the low end. It is pretty minimal difference though. Both of these headphones are fantastic and I don’t think you would be missing out greatly by going with one over the other

Universal unperforated, I also liked the Auteur pads… but ultimately always find myself back with the universe non-perforated

Do either of these cause listening fatigue? I cannot listen to overly bright headphones for too long.

I’d say the VO is the least “bright” of the two. Neither are what I’d say are bright, or fatigue inducing, but, I know people that don’t like the VC for the reverb and some of the brighter presentation it has.
