I feel bad that Michael and Chase sorta had to suffer the punishment too since the giant TV was taken away and they had to watch on that smaller one. But it truly was irresponsible for Logan to spend thousands of dollars on a car without his father's permission. I knew people in college who always spent so much money whenever they wanted on the most random stuff and because of that, they ended up low on cash all the time. They would always ask for some more promising to pay back but never do. One of them even snuck into my roommate's room to steal money from him so they could buy more stuff. This episode is a big lesson to anyone who uses their money for selfish reasons.

Personally my take on logan being a jerk to everyone in season 1 to 3 is because I think unlike the other kids he clearly has a dad who frequently neglects him and only pays attention to Logan if he causes trouble or wants something. My theory is that Logan acting out is because Malcolm never taught him better so Logan acts out always because maybe he wants Malcolm to give him attention that Malcolm almost never does. What I'm saying is Logan being a jerk is because he clearly had parents who are unattentive and clearly too wrapped up in themselves rather than being good parents to him

In a way he did deserve it for using his money irresponsibly. He did not have permission to buy a car, and not to mention the fact that he doesn’t have a drivers license. This is a big lesson to everyone who uses their money for selfish reasons.

So and Chris get seuppset he's smart mouth he get trouble he get caught by Him he got busted so Logan did deserve it and Chris did deserve it Too.

While the Dad was right to be mad at Logan, you have to realize that he was enabling Logan. By bailing him out of trouble all of the time, the Dad only disciplined him when it was something that affected him.
