What do you get when you add a Pelican Catch PWR 100 with a Jet Central 45lb thrust Jet Engine? Maybe more than I bargained for...

I love the "Captain" looks like he might be missing a head when the kayak returns. If you fished from that, you could catch, and cook all at once. I can't wait to see this on the water. Zoffinger, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put this bad boy on hydro foils. it would be one of the coolest things to happen on the internet. i know it would be difficult, but HELL you are putting a jet engine on a kayak!!! imagine how smooth it would ride and how much more efficient/faster it would be. it is the perfect application because the (weird) part of hydro foils is usually trying to get the prop all the way down to the water. you wont have that problem.

It certainly wins in terms of aesthetics, controls and safety but you but the hacksmith’s canoe is simplistic (well as simplistic as you can get with a het engine) and you can’t deny its effectiveness. Though granted not everyone can afford a jet engine that big

This reminds me of a guy here in my small little town of 1000 people and 1 4 way stop sign. His dad was a big oil guy and had what ever they wanted. Example 1 this boy @18 wanted to start a backhoe company and the way his dad thought was ok u go big or go home so they went down and got 8 new trucks 8 new trailers 8 new backhoes and the every thing it took to operate 8 new every thing and he was set. It was less than a year and dad kept noticing his boy (only child) in the office a lot . So he ask the boy a few questions and then decided to go a little deeper and come to find out the boy didn’t even know where all but one even was.but to make a storie short lol the boy was out in Vegas at a big equipment trade show and spotted a little red wagon that he could not walk off from with out owning it. It was a thing that drew every body over to there booth new crate motor that had never been started with every nut and bolt was either Crome or gold looking. It had a race seat with all the belts to go what a ride. Back to keeping it short it was not for sale. Oh yea it was a Kawasaki 1000. 30 thousand dollars later they decided it was for sale and he brought it home to his office to make it a coffee table in the middle of the room

I also think hydro foils might be the only solution for sustained speed without having to be pegged at full throttle. there are actually a ton of people on youtube that have added hydrofoils to kayaks. i was really surprised at the amount of folks that did it, BUT NOT WITH A JET ENGINE !!! LOLOL

You may want to put a lanyard on that trim pin and attach it to your wrist, so when you flip that kayak, it won't take off on you (dead man switch). It would probably be way cooler to have an On/Off switch on that system than to have to plug it in every time. I'm soooooooooo looking forward to the maiden voyage of this thing!
@SurfSkagit3 жыл бұрын
Love it, just do a wet test first, Im no and expert, but I would check few blind spots on the system, like to figure out the exact point of center of gravity and how the propulsion force it’s going to marry the kayak factory stability parameters. In other words, as soon the nose of the kayak raise, it won’t take much to airlift if wind and water conditions are not ideal. I can’t wait to watch it. Good luck 🤞😍

Thanks for the update, I can't wait to see it on the water. I expect it to do very Very little, in aspect of the small "Swept area" of the small turbine, giving you little Static trust, but a large dynamic trust. Directly opposite of a Swamp boat, large propeller, big static "Push", less speed. But Go, I like your project
@svareter423 жыл бұрын
But if your kayak has very little Drag in the water you migth go fast. But I think you will need a lot longer and slimmer Hull for that.

@ChrisV2673 жыл бұрын
@@Noone-l6g I'm not fluid mechanics expert, but I'm guessing that this will work significantly better than a trolling motor because the air coming out of the back of that will be moving significantly faster at a much higher volume than the water through a small 4 blade prop. Think of how much more the wind affects you on a kayak than current in a river
