Injury to the extensor tendon in Zone I results in the mallet finger.
It is quite a common injury, that needs to be understood well before it is treated!

I have a tendency mallet in my ring finger and it's been around 10 years it's around 30 to 40 digree of tilt i am a guitar player it doesn't hurt but it's kinda look weird and i think that this is making my performance week should i go with surgery? Can i get same movement after surgery? I need answer desperately

Just had my index fingertip lac closed with 5 sutures which were super tight a month ago. Now it's horrendously painful 2 weeks after suture removal. Any advice?

Have you consulted your treating surgeon regarding this problem?

@@GKHandSurgery unfortunately he's still on vacation for 2 weeks so I saw a fellow covering for him. He wrote an order for finger desensitization therapy and diagnosis was painful scar. The scar is approximately 3mm elevated in the center it's like a 4mm x 3mm hard marble in the center of the incision where the pain is coming from the remaining 50% of the suture line is not elevated at all and normal in terms of pain. Could it be a sensitive keloid forming on the volar finger pulp or a neuroma or do they not form that fast? I've had several surgical scars in the past in other areas and none of them puffed up in one location like this.

Swan neck deformity

had a bony mallet finger last august, hitting my pinky while loading my suitcase in the car going on holiday... didn't take it seriously, thought if it was broken, I wouldn't be able to bear the pain. cut long story short, visited orthopaedics 2 weeks after... ...." you came too late... bone has started formulating and broken part of the joint is off, cannot be pushed back in." fracture was > 30% < 50%....with volar subluxation ...." you need surgery..." surgery done 3 weeks after injury... only 1 k-wire across the DIP joint and casting for 5 wks. Doctor takes it off. physical therapy started to get the DIP joint moving, 3-4 days a week for 4 weeks... 24 sessions after, the bump on the joint does not subside.. we take an x-ray... joint has healed but bony fractured little piece did not fully sit in the joint... partly out... 50% of times i flex my finger, i hear a crack as if my cracking a knuckle. lag is not too much but grip and strength of the pinky are impaired... very expensive lesson to take health issues seriously and act immediately...

My pain went away in 5-6 days but I took splint after 25 days is it possible to cure my mallet finger now??

In India do the only people who can become doctors have to speak English? And do they need to pay some kind of tuition?
