@@Ceemoney60 Currently the absolute maximum the PS5 allows to output via streaming is 1080p at 60fps. There have been attempts to hack it and change that with no success yet. So using a better screen just raises the cost for no use whatsoever.

Little hint, unplug your hdmi cord from your system and portal will run flawlessly. Ive gamed 11 hours away with my mobile hotspot no issues at all.

@@pittsfieldautodetailing4634you can put your ps5 on rest mode. Portal will wake it up when you try to connect to it. And you can put it back on rest mode through your portal.

@@pittsfieldautodetailing4634 First off, you have to set up Remote Play on your console and allow your console to be connected to the internet while in rest/sleep mode. After that, you can go and play on any internet connection around the world (as long as it’s a decent connection and as long as your NAT-type is not causing any trouble.) DON’T turn off your console completely, because it needs to be in rest/sleep mode in order for you to remotely turn it on with your Portal.

Cloud gaming sucks for the most part currently. And you have to have Xbox top tier sub service. I have a sneaky suspicion the portal with have cloud gaming in the near future when it's relevant to the ps5 ecosystem

I'm not trying to fool anyone or hug my router. I use the service daily at home and remote. xbox does remote play btw. I must be a special case huh. you obviously don't know what you're talking about it to even mention infrastructure. it's 60.00 for 12 months who you trying to fool? you also don't need the top tier service. it's almost like you don't know what you're saying.

It’s only weird if you’re trying to make it what it’s not intended to be in the first place. It’s an accessory to the 5 not a stand alone device. Use around the house don’t travel the country with it

I don't know why it's rumored to have a cloud function considering the PlayStation 5 already has that and anything that you have on your Cloud you can download through the portal to your system and use so the cloud function is no rumor it's already there

The portal is not confusing. This review is confusing. The UPLOAD speed connected to your PS5 is what really matters for a smooth experience on the portal. The experience on the portal is much better than remote play on a phone or laptop in my experience. Also the headphone jack is a SELLING point for anyone with decent headphones lol. It's actually a pretty dope product at a low price point.

Thanks for the info in the video. Couple of things to correct... the LinkBuds you pictured are not the ones that work with the Portal (crazy confusing from Sony though!). It is the new PS Explore Buds and and upcoming Pulse Elite headset that have "Playstation Link" that will wirelessly connect to this. Also (and others have mentioned this) the PS5 will remote play 1080p to a Mac. Those settings in the remote play app are for PS4s only.

I haven’t had any issues with mine for past month and been playing fallout4 and shooter games. I didn’t buy it as a cloud game system which it was never intended to be. Bought it as extra screen time when family watching movies on my tv or between my office breaks at home. It’s been amazing exp for me so far!

Its not confusing at all. Play where u want in ur house. Someones using the tv, so use the portal and have fun. Plus u get a nice looking handheld setup without having to use ur phone and janky controllers. Its def not confusing at all

You don't need Bluetooth If you're home and have a wireless dongle attached to the PS5 you can use them wirelessly. I have my dock from my Nova pro wireless connected and use it that way

Good video, but be careful with wrong info - the PS Remote Play App does 1080p automatically if your internet connection can handle it. Those options you showed are just for PS4.

the 3D headphones are specifically designed for the PS systems. Just google how to link the up and you will be good. As far as the connection just plug your Ethernet cord to from your router to the ps5 and it will run smoothly.

Download speed does not matter all that much after 100 Mbps for cloud gaming, what matters are the network lag and error rate.

If you set your resolution to 1080p or even 720p on the ps5 you might get better performance on the portal. I did and i did port forwarding on my router since i was using chiaki4deck but chiaki4deck n chiaki would frustrate me with that chopping crackling noise and stutters and washed out colors. I bought my portal with intent to resell but i like the damn thing now. Has disconnected 2x and thats only because i was outside 2 houses down to test the range of my wifi.

This is a beautiful device, far better than any PC handheld i have seen. I know it's not a dedicated handheld but it looks and plays fantastic. When Sony eventually release a handheld im sure it will blow away the competition.

Steam deck has outsold the playstation portal last month, playstation remote play is on steam deck, playstation now is on steam deck (and yall on the portal dont have that) playstation put their games on steam you cant even use yours half the time you have it. Its a ps5 controller with an 8 inch screen. Thats a good way to put. Think about the will u. It comes with the console and the controller (the wii u gamepad. Its like selling the wii u gamepad separately. If u call it a handheld device which needs a consle to function,it sounds like a waste. BUT, if u think of it like a controller its a good bargain for some people at least.

Already returned it and got my $200 (plus tax) back. Even with a fast wifi connection, there’s still latency issues and input lag. I pay for 1.2 gb internet speeds and ya it wasn’t awful, but still doesn’t feel like you’re playing on your ps5 directly. Especially for multiplayer games like MW3, this isn’t something you want to play those games on.

It’s does have Bluetooth if you have you’re Bluetooth head set connected to you’re console you can link to it on the portal as well

The reason why it’s only remote play is because they would lose sales with the ps5 and everyone would just be buying the portal because it’s an amazing gaming device
