Thanks. I think you might be right. Easy to move about, easy to ride and unbelievably comfortable. I would love to do a tour on one to see what that’s like. I need to add a big scooter to the collection.

The BMW is in relation to comfort and feeling you get riding it. It’s a perfect, very comfortable bike but boring. Just like the 1250. Not a bike to have fun. Just transport.

I would agree with that. perfection is different for everyone. All depends on what you want it for. What’s perfect for your needs might not be for someone else. For example I love the classic looking scooters. The Vespa GTS I think is perfect. But others will say different because it’s not what they want.

Probably the most comfortable scooter I’ve ever been on.

​@GillyBikes No one is going to see 110 mph on anything with 33 bhp at the crankshaft & maybe 28 bhp at the wheel! You need 50 bhp for that, even with a manual box. But the Zontes is deceptively rapid, & overtaking 3 or 4 cars at a time, even in eco, isn't difficult. It's probably quicker than the Yamaha & Honda, which are around 29 bhp. & the 400 Burgman, which is also only 29 bhp! The Vespa is only a 278 cc engine of 25 bhp at the crankshaft, so probably 19 or 20 bhp at the wheel. Though it's probably much lighter. I saw a video on KZfaq of a Zontes 310M hitting 100 mph by speedo, which is perhaps 95 mph GPS. I've personally seen a carefully measured 97.3 mpg from mine in eco, travelling between 50 & 65 mph over distance, so it's a good long range scooter.

@@hiyadroogs I'd caution about accepting any specification data from Zontes. Claimed vehicle weight 168kg. Its not! The V5 registration document states 188kg. From my experience with several scooters around this weight, I think the latter figure is probably correct. Top speed 110mph? I strongly doubt it. As my 310M was running-in, I never tested this. Equating to similar capacity scooters such as the Forza 350, I would expect the Zontes would be capable of about 85mph with its (true) power to weight ratio. I owned it for a short time, and felt it was fairly rapid, but not more so than the Honda 330cc scooters.

@geoff6942 Agree totally about the weight, -although it has a very low C of G, it does feel a very substantial scooter. As for the top speed, Zontes quote 129 kph, which is 88 mph. This would occur at 7,500, maximum power, although the engine will rev out to 8,000. I've noticed that some Chinese manufacturers tend to quote the maximum speed at maximum power revs, which is usually below the actual potential top speed, but one that they can guarantee. Given that a Tarot 276 cc scooter rated at 26 hp has been clocked at 88 mph by GPS, I suspect that the Zontes will top out at around 93 mph under ideal conditions. 110 mph is nonsense, as decades ago, I had a Honda CX 500, the plastic maggot! That was rated at 50 bhp, & the top speed was 105 mph.

I own this scooter for almost 2 years. My top speed was so far 156 kmph (97mph), GPS shown at that time 146 kmph (91mph). The top speed is limited by rotation of engine, not by lack of power. Comfortable speed is about real 110-120kmph, but you can speed up if you need to 130-140 kmph quickly. So you can use it on highways without any problem, but yes, there are scooters for long ride on highways. It is small (a bit over 2 meters long) scooter for city that can be used on highway if needed so top speed is ok.
