Fun fact, when Derek Zoolander repeats the line "But why male models?" it was totally ad libbed as he just forgot his line but his delivery was so perfect for the character and Duchovny's reaction was so spot on they kept the take lol

Ballstein was played by Ben Stiller's late father, Jerry Stiller. Jerry was a long time writer and comedian in Hollywood. His most famous role was Mr. Costanza on Seinfeld. "Del Boca Vista, baby!"

15:14 - From what I understand, Ben Stiller really did lose track of where they were in the script, so the others were ad-libbing their responses. It fit with Zoolander being dumb, so it was kept in the movie.

Fun fact. There was an out of court settlement with Bret Easton Ellis (author of American Psycho) over this movie. Ellis's book Glamorama was about a male model that becomes an assassin and it came out a couple of years before Zoolander went into production.

"Magnum" means a LOT of things.... Ice Cream, a brand name, a SIZE reference such as .357magnum. It is also a size of champagne bottles as well. And it is also name for a TV show Magnum P.I. So, you can take it anyway you want to take it when it comes to this movie because whatever form you decide to use, it makes the joke that much funnier.

Yay, glad you are doing another fun comedy, Miss Dasha!🙂Good call, Magnum is a condom AND an ice cream. I think Milla Jovovich was embrassing her Ukrainian roots here. The scene where Derek & Hansel are at the computer making monkey sounds is a parody of the film "2001: A Space Odyssey" (1968). There is an inside joke here. Ben Stiller's entire family is in this movie. Christine Taylor (Matilda) is his wife. Jerry Stiller (Ballstein) is his father. His mother Anne Meara briefly shows up as a Mugatu protester. His sister Amy Stiller shows up as part of Hansel's posse. GREAT reactions to this very funny film that feels too short, Dasha!!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

@@reactions5783 Actually it's a style of ammunition and guns that can fire them get the label too. Magnum loads use larger cartridges and heavier powder loads than comparable calibers, hence the use as a condom brand name 😉

"Magnum" simply means something that is larger and/or more powerful than usual. Yes, it is a name brand for condoms, but it is also used for certain extra-powerful loads for firearms, like .357 Magnum or .44 Magnum, and extra-large bottles of wine. In this movie, it is probably meant to make us think of the condoms and the gun caliber. Anything that is "magnum" (like Magnum P.I.) is supposed to be awesome.

I love how this movie makes so much fun at modeling and how fashion is. Its hilarious. And its nice Ben Stiller got many famous people as a cameo to get in on the joke.

Magnum is indeed a brand of condom, but a bunch of other things as well. One size of champagne bottles, a first name, a typo of gun ... Latin for "great, large, big" (of size), "great, considerable" (of value), "strong, powerful" (of force); of persons, "elder, aged," also, figuratively, "great, mighty, grand, important,"

10:27 Americans still tend to think of Russia as 'the enemy' so they give some villains Russian-sounding accents. On the other hand a lot of villains have British accents.

Yeah I mean it's not TOO surprising, but I think Bowie will have a resurgence. It hasn't been long enough after his death. Also frankly I think a huge amount of young people DO know about Bowie, but we unfortunately get confirmation bias from seeing people like reactors not know. Like I love reaction channels, but we're frequently talking about people who haven't seen movies like Schindler's List yet.

Magnum (latin for "great") is a larger bottle size (1,5 liter) for champagnes which later was also used to name larger pistol rounds (ex. .357 magnum or .44 magnum which are greater sizes for .38 or .44 cartridges)

Maury, Dereks agents was using yiddish, a Jewish language that is a mix of German and Hebrew with some Slavic influences. Schvitz means sweating. Meshugas means foolishness. The actors playing Maury is Ben Stilllers real life father, Jerry Stiller, a famous comedian in his own right. Still ers mother Ann Meadow is also in the film, his mother converted to Judaism several years after marrying Jerry. Ben was raised Jewish and has even played a Rabbi in a fiilm. Matilda I played by Christine Taylor who is Ben Drillers wife. She was also in Dodgeball with her husaband.
