In today's video, our one and only Zoologist will take a look at all kinds of animal species in the Far Cry series. From the Himalayan Mountains to Montana, join our host in analyzing animal behavior, exploitation, and cruelty depicted in video games.
Stay tuned.
Far Cry is an anthology franchise of first-person shooter games, all of which have been published by Ubisoft. The first game, Far Cry, was developed by Crytek to premiere their CryEngine software, and released in March 2004.

It's not metal covers, it's real sharpened blades, measured to precision so it's not too heavy for the chicken, nor it's too brittle. They are functional weapons. They are meant to cut into flesh. The loser gets cooked as soon as it's dead and removed from the arena. It's pretty much our national sport, along with beyblades and mini4wds.

For the black lion, it should be noted that’s a cave lion, Panthera spelaea, rather than P. leo like African lions. So melanism isn’t entirely outside the realm of possibility, but since they’re extinct we probably won’t know for sure.

I'd like to see this guy take on an analysis of some fictional animal species from games. Would be interesting to hear about the way he sees them as being realistic or unrealistic based on how they're designed. He's also definitely right about lions. There are no wholly black lions. Some species of big cats do suffer from melanism on occasion though, which can result in being mostly or wholly black. Not sure that its been seen in lions though.

And how are you so sure about that? Have you read an animal's mind? Have you studied the wavelengths and frequencies of its brainwaves when exposed to stimuli, and compared that to that of humans'? Acknowledging a separation from the human experience and that of other animals is fair and reasonable, but to say that as if there is little to no commonality to how we experience emotion is closed-minded. Just recently we found out that cats and dogs can actually understand human language to a limited extent, with syntax and everything. There's so much we don't know as to the nature of consciousness and intelligence.
@rahulsatish7131
@rahulsatish7131 Жыл бұрын
Humans fall under the animal category. Our ability to create tools, innovate, and our emotions serve functions. Understanding emotions and human body language naturally is because it is for our evolutionary benifit, it's not some magical thing that seperates us from animals. Our self-destructive nature is like any invasive species that has exponential growth. The only thing special about us is our ability to be cruel, to eachother and animals. If you can't understand certain animal's emotions, it's more likely because you are not capable more than those emotions not existing.

Every time I've ever been in the ocean, every predatory animal within a mile radius immediately swam directly towards me to attack me. No variance. Every animal everywhere, all the time is in kill mode 100% of the time. Just like Far Cry! It's not fun. It's stupid. Spawning sharks near you just so they can make a bee line over to attack you is stupid. It's lazy programming and it's dumb. An example of good animal AI would be Red Dead Redemption 2. Probably dangerous in the context of "could seriously injure or kill a person in an attack". Sure, most mountain lions will just avoid people, but one that's wounded, starving, territorial or feeling threatened might still attack a person and that would in fact be bad news for that person. On the other hand, there's animals that will not think twice before attacking a person but are still not considered dangerous simply because they lack the ability to do serious damage.
