You went to "Participants" so fast, that I could not see where you found that button. I tried watching over and over like 20 times. Please explain WHERE the Participants list is. Thanks !! (I know it *may be* obvious when I'm hosting a meeting, (??) but I can't find it here in your video, no matter where I look.) :(

Logan, thanks for that! I'm about to teach my UCLAx screenwriting class on Zoom, and am worried about the brutal silence killing the comedy-writing vibe... I think I will always "allow participants to unmute"... and, on occasion "unmute everyone" whenever I'm in a group discussion...

That sounds like a great fit for your class!

is there a short cut for this? ctr +

Unfortunately you can't at this time! Zoom wants you to get individual accounts for each person you want to log into your organization's account vs. having multiple people use one. I believe it's for security, the two-step verification, so you'll have that continue unless you get multiple accounts for your team.

Hi Sum, thanks for the video. Hpave you ever noticed you can't use your "mute all" button while using share screen?
@loganclements Жыл бұрын
Hi Nolan, you should still be able to access the "Mute All" button when sharing your screen. You'll need to click on "Participants" and once that list pops out, you should see the option to "Mute All" on the bottom. Hope that helps!

Hi Logan, thank you for video. I am hosting a large medical symposium Zoom coming up where I will be the host and I will have 5 speakers and probably close to 200 patients/participants. On my Zoom account here at the University I can go into my Zoom account settings page and mute all ahead of time but is it better to control that once you are IN the actual meeting, using the participants icon?..... And also, if I don't allow people to unmute themselves how do I allow my JUST my individual speakers to become unmuted so they can present their topics? Do they have to do that or do I?
@loganclements11 ай бұрын
I'd suggest turning it on like you did in your Zoom backend and then in the actual meeting, double-checking those settings. My workaround would be to make your speakers co-hosts so they are able to mute and unmute themselves whenever they'd like.

What if you have a class one student attends and they have their microphone on and there is really loud noise. I tried to find a mute button, I had to click on Pin because my image was so small.. Can I mute just one student in a zoom class?
@loganclements7 ай бұрын
Yes, but you'd have to find that one student via their video window or searching their name on the participant list. Sometimes Zoom will be smart and move them to the top of the participant list if they're unmuted since they don't know the difference between loud background noise and speaking. As long as you're a host or co-host for the call, you can mute others one-by-one. If you're only a participant, you will not see this feature available. Hope this helps!

after muting everyone, how to give permission to unmute the main speaker and co-hosts themself
@loganclements Жыл бұрын
Great question! Your cohosts should have the ability to unmute themselves and as long as your speaker is a co-host they can also unmute themselves. As a backup, you can hover of their video or name on the participant list and select "Ask to Unmute" - this will send them a pop-up and they'll have to hit ok to actually unmute.
