In some rare valuable metal processing plants they actually have special rollers their employees step on when they leave that pull the tiny partials of gold and other precious metals that get past their primary recovery systems into the air, onto the floor, and eventually stepped on and onto the shoes of employees. The rollers clean the shoes of the tiny particulate and collect it. They said throughout the year the machine collects nearly $40K in gold and other rare metals they produce. Very cool!

My parents had a jeweller shop when I was young. We'd use a polishing wheel to polish rings or any other gold jewel (silver too) to give them a rapid shine after a repair or whatever. This polishing wheel had an integrated vaccum with a filter. A specialized company was buying those filters for good money just to salvage gold dust.

I use to repair these kinds of machines. I always like working on the ones machining precious metals because they were always spotless when I arrived. Never a chip in sight. :-)

I worked for induction technology corporation and inducto therm, building electric furnaces and power supply units for processing and converting gold and other precious metals into bullion and bars. When we would get the furnaces back for servicing, I would collect the slag and pure metals that would spill out of the crucible and into the furnace, where I would collect and pawn it. Mostly it was gold, silver and platinum. I remember that one of our clients was Englehart. There were many other gold processing companies, unfortunately their names are lost to me. We had clients all over the world that had new induction furnaces made and or reconditioned. Cool video, definitely takes me back a few years.

Мне кажется, в таких цехах на рабочего выделяется напр. 100 г. драг. метталл или сколько ему необходимо в рабочую смену, и потом всё это звещивается изделия, отход и т.д. если будет недохватать предел допустимой нормы, то логично рабочий за это отвечает.

Before even watching, I work at Alro Steel, we have these shavings and we air broom them into a pile at the end of every shift and out the shavings in big cardboard crates for it to be shipped off and melted back down. Saves the company a lot of wasted money, we also have scrap containers with actual pieces too.
