In my opinion. English Dub Mihawk's accent resembles the Old English Royals/Aristocrats. Its like he's posh, prideful, condescending.. an adult talking down to a child.. Imagine a rich asshole talking down to you with that fairy accent.. you'd flip yo shit.. but then get cut in half. 😢

Yes, and no. I like the actor’s voice and way brought life to the character, but the Japanese ver. is dubbed by the actual voice actor that voices Mihawk.

I’m in the middle of the Skypiea arc, just checking in to live action Japanese dub as soon as I heard about it. Amazing that they got most of the original actors, but I dearly wish the first Mihawk Japanese VA could’ve been around for this. Sad to hear he passed a while ago. The current Mihawk VA sounds good for the role, but no one can replace that first voice…

this proves how important the voice work is, just some slight change in mehawk's voice tone and accent by the original Japanese voice artist and Hawkeye is immediately a lot more menacing, daunting, intense, respectful, and filled with gravitas. far superior to the original caucasian actor's voice, which seemed a bit nasally and bratty. i hope they slowly make these little corrections.

i disagree. i think the english version does a very good job of recreating takane aone's nasal and vampire-like voice (the first voice actor for mihawk when he was introduced during romance dawn saga, prior to his death), and while i love the current va for mihawk, it's very far from what mihawk's voice used to be.

@@luksalter8200 マンガというアクション表現をしやすい媒体の作品を何でアクション表現しにくい実写に持ち出すのか分からない。バクマンとかデスノートとかカイジとかアクションは少なめで心理描写が多いものとかは実写化に向いているとは思う。実写が作られるのを嫌うのは、コミックで成り立ってる世界観を実写に持ち込むことで、世界観を破壊し、作品のクオリティを劣化させる。
