Fantastic work,Steve!I ask myself,why they didn't used two pieces of copper wire for the brake lines instead of molding them.For cutting and sanding without breaking them everyone deserves a medal!

Yes that's right Detlev they are very fragile - but I was forewarned from my earlier experience breaking the engine bearers.

Hats off to you Steve for a very thoroughly building and painting process on a such over engineered and complex kit. The result certainly paid off! (but I think I'd stick with my Hasegawa, Revell and Trumpeter kits!) Cheers from Chile!

Thanks Jerry yes I agree its all a bit of a waste - Id take a different approach if I were doing this again but I wanted to do this OOB so viewers could see the kit as it was intended by ZM. Ive got the much cheaper Revell G-2 and it will be interesting to see how they compare

Absolutely stunning. You’ve probably mentioned this in other videos, but what do you use to glue on the detail parts without ruining the paint? You seem to have good working time with whatever it is.

Yes she's a beauty. Always loved the 109 - a worthy example of German engineering in terms of production numbers and air forces flying it. Watched every minute and looking forward to the next build. I will try your fearless treatment of decals (lifting them with a brush). Was there not a steel cable securing the canopy in the open position? Maybe not on this variant. Also the cowl hinges must have had an internal fitting which held them up. Great engineering, if so. Your treatment of exhaust stubs is exactly correct, with the forward one getting no blow back. I did it (not so well) on my Tamiya Spitfire. Much appreciated Steve.
@TheModelShed
@TheModelShed Жыл бұрын
Thanks John yes you’re right on both counts but I ran out of time to fit them. I actually put some PE brackets on the sill and armour plate ready to connect them with some PE line left over from my HOOD build. I might get round to them both eventually.
@johnmclean6498
@johnmclean6498 Жыл бұрын
@@TheModelShed Yes mate - the extra supports will add much needed strength to those vulnerable parts. I often wonder what the pilots thought about that swing canopy. If you turned turtle (not an uncommon accident) there was no getting out till help arrived. At least in their Allied opponents the canopy could be closed after takeoff.

Nice end result Steve, Thought Zoukei Mura would of done a weighted wheel, considering the detail they put into this kit? Any hint on what's next?

Fantastic work. One point: I am messing the rounf antenna for the FuG 16 that is typically placed behind the cockpit on the red painted bubble. Is it missing for that historical Hartmann plane or simply because Zoukai Mura copied a museum piece or was that Hartmann plane not equipped with that round antenna?
@TheModelShed
@TheModelShed Жыл бұрын
Theres a clear photo of Hartmann getting out of this aircraft which clearly shows the antenna missing - just the mount is present, ZM got it right.

Why silver the propeller as it was made of wood.
@TheModelShed
@TheModelShed Жыл бұрын
Interesting I’d like to look into that a bit more before correcting it if you could let me know your sources. My understanding is that early 109s and some museum aircraft have wooden props for sure: but my research suggests that late mark 109s including the G-14AS were fitted with metal VDM9-12159 blades. There are plenty of photos on the web of late 109s (including a K) with bent blades after bellying in. I would have thought that wooden ones would shatter?
