Bought that kit as I have 1.75 flight hours in the real one! The local ANG took me up in May, 1986. The model is excellent, by the way.

Love the canopy,its nice that there is no molde line, down the centre of the canopy glass, to have to polish out!

I built the "J" version. It was a sweet kit. Really enjoyed building it. Plus its an iconic classis jet fighter

I have all their F-4s(actually all their kits), built one J so far. Wonderful kit. Not perfect, but it's much nicer than the others. Had hoped for a B to do some Vietnam Marine Sq, but...then came Tamiya. Have to agree your point on instructions. Too busy, more information than necessary and sometimes a needed view or point is missing, with all the other business going on. That is my only real complaint is the busy-ness of the instructions. I didnt have any issues with the engine area collars or the spine cover fit. More with the vagueness of fit with the stabilizers.

I suppose it's a case of horses for course when it comes down to complexity but you would really have to read those instructions carefully 😄what a lovely kit for a while l thought it might make the magical 10 out 10 but it was not to be you where right there are some beautiful kits in the pipeline really enjoying your reviews 👍

If I understand Z-M they have these “dense” instructions purely for the modeling “experience “ and not because everyone is a moron 😂 . Some are happier just clipping everything off into a pile and having at it! Something for everyone! 😊 I m anticipating the f-w 190 shipping soon 🎉

Nice kit. Perhaps a little too much work for my tastes, I love the instructions though. I don't care about "proper writing" on the box, Google Lens on your phone is your friend, unless you have one of those silly Apple things. Just a FYI - The IR Seeker inside the pod on the nose was replaced by small domed IR detectors, (initially AN/APR 25 on the C) , and the pod was just an empty shell in the USAF C & D models. It makes you wonder why they didn't remove the pod. PS The magic whiskers keep appearing and disappearing... Time machine?
