Yes. The 1st Ys wasn’t based on real places. (Though the title “Ys” is from Celtic myth) But after many titles, the names of the places or countries are based on real.

@@CitronCoffee This isn't true at all. The original world map of Ys and the names of many places were always, from conception, based on real world places. Always. Why would you think it was only after many entries? Just because the first game also has fictional places doesn't make a difference. All of them have fictional places as well.

the music style has changed a lot from the old- fashioned metal rock to classical style , and the art work is well done, awesome

Not really, the problem was NISA who botched it with a hackwork of a translation that made the game wildly unpopular at the time.
