I had the privilege to be in a concert with Zukerman and Maestro Mehta 30 years ago and is very sad to realize that everyone got a beginning and an end and painfully the end is very close for these beloved musicians. Always remember the beauty they brought to millions around the world!💖💖

Phenomenal technique. Very perfect intonation. Such brilliant performer. But this interpretation seems almost to heavy, chunky, harsh, screamish, vulgar, glissed and accentuated it makes the sound ugly and difficult to hear the melodic line in the accords: where is the soft, sweet Bel Canto?

Søren Skjold Jensen the intonation actually isn’t very good either. He even played a few wrong notes...I do agree with your other points wholeheartedly.

The problem with the aging violonist. At age 71 you are simply not good enough to play publicly any longer. But many ignore that and assault our ears with their waning technical abilities. Yehudi Menuhin was also guilty of that.

@@ZJStrudwick Who I am? I have ears. These are not amateurs, they are professional musicians who make a living of playing in public. They take money for their performances. And this is substandard. And it is caused by his age. That's just how it is. No getting around it.

I play classical music but I have no respect for such a disgraceful and racist musician. Zukerman must stop making culturally insensitive and ignorant remarks to young musicians who are Asian or Asian descendants.

With all due respect to Maestro Zukerman, this was so bad I'm shocked they even posted it. There comes a time when you've had your career and it's time to cede the limelight to younger performers who are more adept. There is no shortage of star talent who can play the violin in tune and have interesting things to say.

@@DjavanCaetano It is very possible to not like this. I see a man who once had the technical abilities to play this concerto, but whose hands lack the stamina and accuracy due to his age. He reminds me of the many aging opera singers who failed to go into retirement at the right time like Montserat Caballé and Placido Domingo.

This is hideously disrespectful, you're the one I'm shocked with. So what if there are the odd mistakes? This is strong willed musicianship with brilliant sound. What do you want, a robot midi that is 100% accurate? You're focussing on one or two things that didn't go as planned, and forgetting the million things he's doing amazingly. And what right do you have to tell someone they should give up? If you have nothing good to say, don't say it, and nobody's telling you to buy a ticket anyway!

The man is too big for the Violin, he belongs on the Viola. He's a master of both Instruments. The Viola is is Forte. See Mozart's Symphonie Concetante K 364 with Itzak Perlmann
