This thing is crazy! It’s weird that I’d be less intimidated by Ka than this drop, don’t know why

I waited at least a half an hour for it during fright fest, but the park was absolutely packed. That day, I also waited about 45 minutes for bizarro, which is one of the least popular attractions in the park edit: but it was during covid, so the ride was operating at half capacity

I HATE the butterfly feeling but for some reason i am still a coaster and park enthusiast (weird combo i know). Zumanjaro is high on my bucketlist along with Ka so it's nice to know that the drop isn't that strong and the butterfly feeling isn't super noticeable.

Off ride and on ride footage cant do justice on how tall this and Kingda Ka are. I got a glimpse of Zumanjaro rising to the top as my dad was about to pay for parking and the towers look terrifying and nerve racking. 🥺

When I went to Six Flags last year with my friends, there was no waiting line. We walked up to the ride and go straight on. I was scared but brave to challenge myself to go this high on a ride. It was fun

As Six Flags Magic Mountain was my home park for over 40 years, I have been on Lex Luthor Drop of Doom quite a few times. It differs a bit from Zumanjaro as there's a recording that basically gives away when the drop is going to happen (sometime after Lex Luthor's evil laugh :P). I've yet to experience Zumanjaro but I plan to when I do my northeast amusement park trip next year. If that other drop tower is open in Orlando, I might check it out as I'll be doing a WDW and Universal trip this coming September.

I can confirm that you can see philly on a clear day, but the ride faces that direction, southwest, so I highly doubt you can ever see New York which is northeast of the ride structure, unless you have eyes in the back of your head lol

I thought I was going to be more scared than I was at that height. It has a nice view and fun, seemingly endless drop. My first drop tower was Power Tower, and I was told that my face changed color as we slowly went up. Now I handle drop rides fairly well.

I heard that they are allowed to now operate both Ka and Zumanjaro simultaneously, and I can confirm they are now that I've visited. I even got a dueling ride where we were racing the train going down Ka's drop

“The Lap Bar is a bit tight so the airtime might be harder to enjoy” Dude it’s literally the sky rush lap bar modified to come down over your shoulder in a different way.

That long death march to the station is why I only made one trip out there on my 2.5 days at the park. I rode it twice while out there, but I can't remember how the airtime was. I remember that the incredible height did have me feeling very nervous on the way up, and I love how the drop lasted forever. Do you recall if Lex Luther at SFMM gives better airtime than Zumanjaro?

I waited just over an hour for Zumanjaro when it ran with the VR headsets in the spring a few years back. Other than that my longest wait was opening year 2014 Fright Fest on Sunday evening of Columbus Day Weekend; probably about 45-50 minutes. Sometimes I'd go back there on a summer night after 9 and be the only one on the ride!

As someone who's worked at a drop tower, Mach Tower at BGW, this and lex Luther scare the crap out of me. The height, the length of the drop, and his short breaks are, in relationship to the full height. I didn't know that it hit 90 and over 3G’s at the breaks though. Great video, btw.

I got a stomach dropping sensation, but I can't say it was strong or weak because I have only ridden s&s drop towers, and the zamperla rip off of an s&s tower at coney island. It definitely didn't feel like free falling though

I have ridden this several times. Never a line any of those times either. I don't even really bother with it anymore unless I go with friends who really want to ride it. It honestly doesn't do much for me. I prefer the drop towers at both Kings Dominion and Kings Island oddly.

I haven't been on Zumanjaro but I have been on Lex Luthor's drop of doom and your ride experience is more or less the same from what I've heard from this and other reviews. It's weird because I've been on a few different drop towers over the years, and they all give you that stomach dropping sensation plus the airtime. But for some reason you don't get that on the Intamin drop towers. When you fall you get a brief sensation of falling but then you seem to "even out" with the speed and forces and you're just falling really fast. I really thought the drop would be more intense since it's 400 feet tall but it's really not that bad. I get more airtime on S&S launch and drop towers surprisingly. Although, older Intamin drop towers like the one at California's Great America for example, gives a WAY more intense drop in my opinion.

As an enthusiast you start seeing parks in a different way I remember when I went to sfga for the first time I thought it was the best thing ever when I first went and I thought Hersheypark was OK as an enthusiast I see Hersheypark as an amazing park and sfga as a good park

I would love to experience this ride, I just think it's such a shame that it can't run with Kingda Ka. Stifling each other's capacity, and specifically limiting the more popular Kingda Ka's ride cycles, has got to be somewhat frustrating for the park. Especially if it's already not super popular, I wouldn't doubt that Zumanjaro's operations may become more limited, particularly once it loses it's height record.

To make this tower even better, they should add a tilt train to one of the towers, imagine taking that plunge face down

From what I read, Rolling Thunder was removed not necessarily because of Zumanjaro or its queue but mainly because that ride was just getting more and more unpopular each year. In all seriousness, they should really put a new ride in that space. Maybe that in return could get more people to ride Zumanjaro as well.

Last time I visited Magic Mountain in 2015 I was too scared to ride Lex Luthor. Next time I visit I will go on it though and whenever I get around to this park, this drop tower will surely have my palms sweating before riding.

Height and speed are2 things that you can't teach. This ride has both! It gets a 10/10 in my opinion because it not only delivers both, but the 6 seconds in the air make for a very fun experience. I once rode it without shoes. I have ridden other drop towers at fair and boardwalk settings and this one beats them all. I have not ridden any power towers that blast you up to the top with speed and intensity as of yet. But I 'd rather have the fun aensation of lengh of time free-falling before the brakes kick in. I wonder if they could have allowed the ride to safely fall a little longer?

Really intersting to see how quick the stop is, but as you correctly said, it's actually due to the speed, not the length of the brake run. Magnetic brakes work on the principle of eddy currents, magnetic fields that form when the brake fin passes the permanent brake magnets. They oppose the magnetic field of the magnets, getting repelled and slowing the train. But they are proportional to the velocity of the brake fins entering, so the faster you enter, the faster you get stopped. Curious if there could be a work around for this...

At least on my 2022 rides, my favorite tower out of the 3 is definitely the middle tower. On my 2022 rides, all three towers dropped at different times and the middle dropped first, so it was more suspenseful, and the drop felt more powerful. The other 2 towers were just ok.

This looks like a great drop tower. It is not my favorite cause when it comes to these rides, I usually prefer the airtime and intensity over size but boy there is just nothing like being held 415 ft over the group.

New Jersey also have a laws rides over 300ft must have OSTR, and Zumajario down time can be attributed do lockout keys that block KK or Zumjario. New Jersey has some of the strictest laws with amusement parks since of the days of Action park,I still remember on the 4th of July when It was opening everyone made a mad dash and it had 2hr wait since everyone made a made dash

Zumanjaro is a weird one for me. This one doesn't freak me out, but shorter ones do. I prefer Lex Luthor at Magic Mountain.

I heard that rolling thunder was actually inspected to be rmcd, but rmc found that the wooden structure was in too poor quality to be reused in a conversion. Thus, that led to this ride being on the table.

Nj has always had weird laws. Another law that changed recently that I heard from my friend was that 300 foot tall rollercoasters weren't allowed to be built, but 400 foot tall coasters were for some reason.

I've yet to Ride any Drop Tower as of yet, not since last Riding the Giant Drop at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, but I'm visiting my Brother in L.A. and planning a trip to SFMM and plan on riding both Superman and Lex Luthor. Zumanjaro has an advantage over Lex Luthor from a Drop speed advantage,and maybe the height, but not by much. Yet, Lex Luthor is around plenty more Rides and you can actually better appreciate just how high Up you are. Whereas Zumanjaro, doesnt provide all that much scenery Looking down but a Parking Lott. On Lex Luthor, you drop very close to 2 or 3 nearby Coasters.

Such a horrible rule that both can’t run at the same time.. I practically live on both towers, and I’ve been dying for a ride while both are going 🥃

This thing is terrifying. I almost hope it's down when I visit in early June. If it's running, I'll be forced to ride it, just to say I did. But I'm not embarrassed to say I'll be petrified.

This by far is the one ride where no matter how many times I ride it I still feel the knots in my stomach. Like you said due to the impeccable height and the psychological factor of whether you’re at the top or night. This ride during day or night is fabulous that view is 100% worth riding this

Lamest, most disappointing drop tower I've ever been on. I was so excited the first time I rode it, I was hyped like hell. Then when I rode it, halfway down the drop, my gleeful excitement turned to sheer disappointment. I know that drop towers can't always go the speed of gravity, but this wasn't even close. I thought it was a fluke at first, so I tried a different tower...then the other. Then I rode later in the day when it was much hotter...still sorely disappointed.
