So much power in those few lines. The way Russell Crowe said them, you feel the weight, the experience and the depth that those titles mean. He's seen a lot and this little pebble on the road that is the current emperor will not make him bow for he is not worthy of it.

As much as I feel Russell Crowe’s performance in this masterpiece was far beyond perfection, Joaquin Phoenix’s performance was just as incredible. Everyone hated his character, which ultimately means he did a brilliant job in playing his character, Commodus. His line “I would butcher the whole world, if you would only have loved me” and the way he said it, the emotion, still amazes me to this day.

What is so amazing about movies like this, is they remind us of events that happened hundreds of years ago in our history. Events that helped shaped our world of today. Yet as we look around us, we sadly see that so many of us have failed to learn from that history. We could be doing so much better.

Joaquin Phoenix's performance as Commodus is EXCELLENT, Russell Crowe as Maximus Decimus Meridius stands out a lot, and how can we forget that young and beautiful Connie Nielsen as Lucilla? It is a beautiful movie, one of my favorites. Very good video, I have shed some tears of nostalgia.

I know just 3 of the best historical movies, those I`ve seen in my life (I`m 40 years old, thanks God). They are these ones - Gladiator, The 13th Warrior and Kingdom of Heaven. And the best of these best ones is UNEQUIVOCALLY - The GLADIATOR! !! I forgot about how many times I`d watched this incomparable Epic Movie. And I`m continuing watching It and will continue watching it always in sha Allah! Mister Ridley Scott was an incomparable Master. So is Russel Crow the best of actors for me. Pure visual poetry. I presume the thumbs down are because this is a little over 8 minutes. Honestly, for me, time stops while watching a Z23M masterpiece. Each time we "go black" I hold my breath hoping there's more. If I may be so bold to admit in my humble opinion there is no one better retelling these stories. (YES! We ARE entertained 🙌)

This made me remember im in love with how the art of a movie portraits life, the art of music you ve used, the music itself, the movement, the silence, the eyes shining bright with hope or looking down with shame or tiresome but not hopeless, the strenght of a solid like a rock human being that it can crack but still its gonna exist as a rock and nothing else! Thank You and the people working for this movie. You made pal, for me, you made it!

Fun fact, the actor who played senator Gracchus (Derek Jacobi) in the film were actually also played the character Claudius in I, Claudius film series in the 1970s

I find it incredible how you edit your films to the music you play. I look at the music you pic and surround your film around it so the scenes can be more impactful. Just brilliant Zurik.
