Tower of Power is Unequivocally The Greatest "Horn Band" of All Time!!! The brass arrangements are ALWAYS Top Shelf, The Rhythm section is SICK Tight! And when they aren't blowin dem horns, those cats be in the background singing "DooWops" LOL I bought their first album when I was 15, simply on the strength of "What is Hip" .... Fifty years later I can honestly say that I LOVE everything that this group has ever done 🎷🎸🥁🎤💥💥💥

I wish there was a better band. Because, if this feeling got any better, it would be beyond heaven‼️❤️

Watching this video today, not only because it is one of my favorites (if not my ABSOLUTE favorite) TOP songs, but also because it features two of my dear friends and now departed members of the TOP family -- Mic Gillette and the great Francis Rocco Prestia. RIP boys ... hope to see you again on "the other side".

Beyond being one of the premier drummers of all time, Garibaldi is so efficient he makes it look way too easy. Rocco's staccato bass groove also elevates ToP .

Check out Mic's high note at 2:00. ToP always sounded best with Mic on lead trumpet. Sorely missed.

Old school and soulful from guys from across the ocean! Saw them as a teenager. They opened up for War and the TOP. Tower of Power for ya'll who don't have a clue. The Average White Band was everything but that!!

Guess he was sick or something. I’ve never seen a horn player sub out. Probably impossible so they just do without.
