Don’t forget about Alex. When he chimed in with his first notes I thought I was listening to Coltrane. The notes that he chose, the way he expressed himself and his tone is off the hook. Alex is a real one . Give him his flowers…

This synergy across the generations around Marcus Miller is just mesmerizing. His magic bass follows me since the seventies, Federico Pena impressed me especially with his intro to that unforgettable "Run for Cover" in The Java Festival 2010 together with bro George Duke, and then Christian Scott in Montreux 2019. Wow.

Christian Scott is the greatest living trumpeter of this generation. I’ve never heard or seen another trumpeter with that kind of moxie. He hits notes that only Miles could. This is by far the best and most perfect rendition of this song ever. Alex Han is the new Kenny Garrett, he is a beast. Is there a better bass player in the world than Marcus Miller?

Haha it’s subjective but I’d probably say there are (re: last question). Also for me, Roy Hargrove and Wynton are better though they’re a bit older than Christian. I’m sure there are loads of badass trumpeters out there who don’t have the name recognition. Definitely were some dope players at UNT like Jordan Gheen (not sure if I spelled his name right?)

Amazing. Captivating. Transforming. This Trumpet and Bassline takes me and puts me in Another World outside of this City. I can almost see the dark night with city lights in the underbelly and alleyways of this corner of a City where the tentacles nightlife reach. Where is this Place ? I know it's out there, hidden yet, Alive ! Beautiful-bodied women, racy and colorful. Men, Dangerous and calculating. All coming together in a precarious place. Can you feel it ? It's drawing you in, pulling at you. Yeah man, Pulling , yearning, Drawing you away from where you are at the moment, pulling at every thought in your deepest corners of your mind .....
