In an interview, Billy Gibbons said, ""Yes, it's based on a rap song from the 1990's entitled '25 Lighters' by Lil' Keke and Fat Pat. It was recorded at a Digital Services Recording in Houston and we worked there as well, so we got to know those guys and that song just stayed with us for all that time. It really stayed in our head for all that time while we figured out how to deconstruct it and transform it into a guitar-based, blues-infused rocker as you hear it on La Futura. That guitar breakdown is something of a tribute to the great Lightnin' Hopkins, another of our 'heroes of the Houston ghetto.'"

Saw ZZ Top live in concert in Jacksonville, FL, USA on their _Antenna_ tour in the '90s. What a show! AND they brought some of the babes that you see in their videos. Almost burned down the colosseum...

@@gogoyubari366 I think he meant "rat rod" like the vehicles featured in this video. He wants a rat rod with "G12 swangas" which is a popular wheel choice in Houston... they're based on 1984 El Dorado Cadillac wheels, with the center spoke poking even further out. If i've made any errors feel free to correct me Houston folks 👍
@phug0id3 жыл бұрын
@@gogoyubari366 also this ZZ Top track is a cover of a very popular Houston rap song called "25 Lighterz." You should check it out so you're familiar with the source material. RIP Dusty!
