You have to understand guys like these. They played night after night, years go by, the same songs over and over again. Occasionally getting asked to play with others and maybe playing something different but it's like listening to the same song for days on end and making it sound better each time. For guys to even stay together like this is awesome. Through all the drugs, alcohol and other temptations during their life and to still step out on stage, give an hour and a half concert and act like they are playing it for you for the first time. WOW !!! Sing, even if you can't, for an hour, some what loud and see what your voice is like. Sit down on a chair, pat your foot to the beat and see how long it takes to get tired. What they do is still something of an art.

I was there for this! I left Paul McCartney early to catch ZZ Top, and I was certainly not disappointed! They took the stage, opened up a can of whoopass, and didn't let go until they threw you back leaving you to wonder what hit you! The mix here doesn't really do it justice as to how energetic the show was. An audience of all ages and they were all rowdy as hell! Unbelievable! They've still got their mojo!

Some people are born to be musicians; some are born to be entertainers; some are born to be unique, unforgettable, and top-of-the-line. Such a group is ZZ Top. They took what they were given and used it all. What a group! Billy's solo on "La Grange" tops just about every hard rock solo, except perhaps Eric's in "Crossroads." He throws in the kitchen sink, plus a few new twists, to me anyway. I'm still trying to perfect it.

Wow! Two spectacular trios, originating in the 70’s, raging through the 80’s and beyond, each lost a member in just over 18 months time. I grew up listening to, and following these two power trios; where does the time go? Not to mention the longevity of both bands, ZZ Top and Rush, and their members sticking together so cohesively. Quoth the Bard; “...’tis a consummation devoutly to be wished!” R.I.P. Dusty (7/27/2021) and Neil (1/7/2020)... P.S.-Also, not to mention, Dusty was about 64 in this vid, so BIlly and Frank are around there as well. These guys are, basically, Medicare aged in 2013, and yet they’re rocking the living #*?%$! out of the place!

What can you say, heavy, funky, blues, rock. Always gets me how their sound is so damn full with just the one guitar and a bass and drums. Always seems like there's somebody else playing rythym in the background but nope. They would blow the roof off of any place they played. They know how to put on a show. And they're so unique looking, sounding, and singing. Nitty gritty southern rock, Texas rock, or whatever you call it.

Over the years ZZ Top has proven itself to be one of the greatest, longest lasting American rock bands of all time. There are few bands with just 3 members who can deliver as much sound as ZZ Top. I've seen this 'little ol band from Texas' live in 1976, 1999, and 2004. (if you like your rock and roll loud, this is the band to see) Even with the passing of time, ZZ Top plays with the same drive and energy that took em to the top in 73.

This was a special night in the Middle Tennessee area for sure! If you have never experienced Bonnaroo, you haven't ever been to a music festival yet without a doubt. This year it's Sept 2-5, 2021 in Manchester, TN with the Foo Fighters.. NO ZZ Top but a good band. Now, back on topic... From me being an old road dog myself, ZZ Top is one and if not the only band to stay together for over 50 years ow and still go out night after night and do it Big Boy style even being That Lil Ole Band from Texas. Of course, I was at this event and I've seen them like 12 times over the years and these guys bring it every time I've seen them. I was told be the Rev when I asked how long ZZ Top will tour. He responded as long as there are people who want to have a great time and these legs and fingers are working, we'll be there, possibly at the end of time we'll play that show too!

You forgot the skins - Frank Beard in back beating that kit to death...very basic, very rudimentary, and the driving force behind this three-man band, Mario. He's been there since Day #1 too so...one has to imagine, what good is a sports car with all that shiny paint, hot wheels, leather interior, chrome and polish...without an engine worthy enough to pull the load? That's Frank - doing it the only way he knows and only the way FRANK can! Billy? The drive train (transmission, driveshaft, differential, universal)...and Dusty? That rock-hard, power-tuned suspension that keeps the "body" from "bottoming-out" - yeah, you get it. Just, I said it first. :) R.I.P.

I love how you can’t tell how old they get. This was 7 years ago. I’m seeing it in 2020. They were all 3 born in ‘49. But I’d have gotten tired of the long beards a long time ago and I wear whiskers myself

I first saw ZZ Top in 1973. Were they better then, of course they were 40 years younger. I don't do anything as good as I did 40 years ago. They still rock! Enjoy what they can do now.

***** I agree man, I do everything so much better than I did way back then, I'm a musician and play drums, keys, guitar and sing far better, they are just having a bad night, the sound man could do something, I'm hearing this over a 7.1 theatre system and it still sounds bad.
