Absolutely love my Fords had a Bf xr8 Boss 260 6sp auto very slow take off great top end am told it costs a lot to get more out of these engines the heads are massive you can put GT cams in and what you've explained in your video also diff gears

Very impressive....makes me wonder how quick my stock 220kw AU2 auto sedan would be in the quarter ? Bigger throttle body and valves from the factory. First I have to find out where all the water is pissing out of near the back of the intake manifold (just happened the other day dammit). It rips to redline in first and second fairly easily, even at 320,000+km's !!

The ED was a well sorted car, they looked good, were pretty reliable and it's a shame you don't see more of them on the road. I did my apprenticeship from 91 to 94 with a ford dealership, so I do have a soft spot for E series falcon.

Hey big guy, have you ever run the beast on another dyno to see if there is a difference. There's zero chance that GT is making less than 300 at the wheels. Diff gears skew? Tq went up.....

Yes, it made 311rwkw. I think there are some lofty dynos around. I'm trapping 8mph more than another 340rwkw 5.4 with 4.11s that a mate of mine owns. Hopefully new engine should make 30-40rwkw more.

The 5L windsor is an awesome mighty mouse. Build a bottom with a 331 kit, AFR's and girdle and they can be insane.

That restrictor in the airbox isnt factory for the xr8 .. that lloks like a 6cyl airbox .. the xr8s had an alloy belmouth in the airbox.. 15.1 is around the correct stock time

Is the chassis the same as the GTR? I know the GT-T is different, but not sure about the GT-Four.

Yes, same chassis. Just bodykit and interior really. It's very similar to a 33 GTR, just has smaller CV's and the GTT rear diff. This one has complete 33GTR driveline though minus the diff/half shafts

It was around 280kw before cams and 311rwkw after, but with a much broader powerband.

Mate ive got a 290rwkw ba xr ute, crow cames top eend rebuild and chains etc all that jazz... on the street would a gt500 and a yellaterra bigger style plenum give me anymore boot 2500-4500rpm?

If anything it would be 4500 onwards and even then maybe 10kw at your power level. DALTA and I are going to do some testing on the plenum with the dyno soon. I'll be able to tell you exactly. My advice woukd be to hald shaft the factory 75mm t/b and add a plenum spacer to the stock lid for now like I did originally.

I own 40 ohc that makes 390hp at the block a mate of mine built it and done a whole lot of R&D race it in a saloon drit track car broke it a couple of times and worked out really weak spots are it’s a au bottom with a ea head apparently the engine builder started with au head did not like the rocker system and changed to ea for better valve control it’s 12to 1 comp custom intake to suit carburettor and port job custom rods and piston from the states Sounds absolutely bonkers I found his old race car so I’m slowly putting it back together yet to drive it but will happen one-day

If it had a clutch and I could slip it off the line I would have been able to get into the 13s I think. It's been 11s now, still n/a.

I chopped a 6L ss ve in my 5.4L fairmont the 3v engine my car currently has apparently is a "torque monstor" when done right (considering I beat a 6L i'm fairly happy with the stock engine) Was quoted 4k for a new Timing chain kit install but a boss 290 engine is 5k so ill probably go that route

@@Getsum-ii It's a fairly substantial upgrade for just 5k. Add some 4.11s and a tune and you have a 12second car 🙂

@@Getsum-ii Nice, Dalta are doing a nice plenum to suit the twin 60mm throttle body. Woukd be cheaper than a 3rd plenum. Stock injectors will do the power you will make too. Bolt ons and tune you'd be looking at 280-290rwkw. Which is plenty
