Laurie ran away and self destructed rather than watch Jo love someone else. He realized what he couldn’t bear to face, Amy had been living her whole life. Watching him love Jo. Bittersweet. ❤

Sorry but I thought Florence Pugh was miscast as Amy.

Laurie wanted to change to impress Jo and win her over. When that didn't work out, he proved he had never really changed or matured. He was smitten, and infatuated. Amy challenged him in a way that made him want to change to be a better man period. Without the hope of being with her because she intended to marry someone else. That is when he actually matured and as his feelings developed for amy, he realized what had been missing with Jo.

I can watch this again and again and love them more every time. Tim and Florence are made for each other in exactly the same way as Laurie and Amy are and that makes this film so magical ❤.

I feel the movie focuses only on Jo and Laurie friendship more and didn't focus on Amy and Laurie that much. And same goes for Jo and Fredric relationship as well. It was sweet and short as the publisher wanted it to end by the author of this book. That's why many people feel bad that Jo and Laurie didn't end up together. I feel that the book is not totally real biography of the author. The author must have write some scenes in more dramatic way which will get sold.

No because in this movie they seem more meant to be, while in the other movie laurie and Jo should have been together.

We will never know if Laurie really loved Amy as much as he loved Jo. We will never know if they just married because of the benefits they could get from each other. But I believe that Laurie's feelings for Jo melted away after the time he spent with Amy. And he loved Amy just in a different way. He was a teenager when he fell in love with Jo and when he finally grew up, he loved Amy and spent the rest of his life with her. And I'm not sad about that at all.
