Try crankshaft position sensor connection, I’m having similar problem with the transmission speed sensor I can not locate it anywhere. I mistakenly found the crankshaft sensor disconnected and the wiring connector broke apart from dry rottening. To access it you have to take the air box off it’s in between a metal pipe and black hose. Separate them and you’ll see it.

The head bolts need to be tightened in a certain sequence and loosened in a certain sequence, the reverse of tightening so you don’t run into stripping bolts or warping the head.

Thank you so much for posting this! After 3 years of ownership, my right one just went out last night and of course it's happening at a time when I have a bunch of other expenses to worry about this month!! I was about to order an OEM one on FCP for $134 then decided to look up DIY videos to see how much work went into it, and was glad to find this video not only showing how easy it is step-by-step but also a great, substantially cheaper bulb alternative. Although the price of these has gone up to $40 since you posted this video, it's still a steal compared to paying $134 for one. Thanks again! Can't wait for them to come in tomorrow and to replace them... driving around with one headlight has been ghetto lol

@Marco-qe5zw i know it doesn't have gears. But with the crappy oem fluid it made the transmission feel like it was shifting gears. When changed to amsoil it stopped doing that

one piece exh gasket is easier to install, they sell it. lower intake bolt next to the thermostat doesn't need to be removed.

The dealership told me I have an oil leak externally on the passenger side. They said "they couldn't figure out where it's coming from." I found it odd that they didn't bother to diagnose it.

@garrettm3787 in scan tool, there's a command to open and close. If your truck is cranking fast, and fuel pressures look good. It's your actuator.

My 2008 is250 kicks when down shifting at high speeds, (for instance) going around 60-70 then punch the gas, it’ll kick instead of taking off. Anyone know why? I’m thinking it’s the transmission fluid because It appears to be leaking

Morning , thanks for the video , this is one of many but very clear and very informative . I followed your you steps exactly and all went smoothly , 10 QTS removed and 10 QTS replaced with Amsoil ATF . When I started the truck it gave a AT Error warning light and after a 30 seconds of running I put the truck in gear and the the shift was very hard . I lets it run for a further 5 minutes then turned it off to go run some errands . When I returned the truck stated as normal and selected gears VERY smoothly this time , but the AT light is still on , I checked the AT oil level and it shows high when cold ... but as stated 10 QTS out , 10 QTS in ... Today I planed to drive it when I get home to see if there is any change . Any advise would be greatly appreciated sir .

HI , Help , I just changed my fluid and followed the exact steps you showed and first start I have an AT Error light on the dash . the gear selection is very hard and only turned the truck around and parked it . I changed the filter , gasket drained 10 QTS and refilled with 10 QTS Amsoil Signature ATF . Please advise

@jonthus1 check the fluid level when truck running and warm in park. Pull the dipstick and check fluid level. Don't ever trust what eas in truck. Put the amount in that you draine then check on dipstick

@petert696 These cars i wouldn't recommend starting. I would messege roel at rica tuning and have him tune your car. I messed up my car by letting other inexperienced tuners try to tune my car. This car is not good to start tuning on, very difficult to tune. Rica has their own remote tuning device that they send you to read and flash your car. And you can get logging device somewhere to log. Or i think hilton offers logger also.

if thats a cvt model you dont have to replace transmission fluid last the lifetime of the vehicle you should check out the owners manual on that and I wouldnt suggest penzoil that oil sucks.

That is the transmission fluid pick up strainer. Fluid in the drain pan gets past the screen filter and goes up through that short pipe with the o-ring towards the top front part of the transmission where the fluid pump is. That pick up strainer doesn't need to be replaced.

As far as I know the correct fluid color for the FXT 14-18 is the CVT-HT orange color one, because of the high torque. What happens if you put another fluid? let's say the red one, ATF-HP? Could you ruin the CVT?
