Alright, I just went down a big rabbit hole relating to this cover. Mark is singing lead vocals, Kurt can barely be heard towards the end of the song through backing vocals. Wikipedia doesn't even list this song as having Kurt singing on it, only guitar. For those wondering, Krist is on bass, Mark is on lead vocals, and Kurt is on guitar and backing vocals. According to Mark's memoir, he was asked by Kurt to sing this song live with him during Nirvana's Unplugged set, but he declined citing that it "just felt weird to me". Kurt told Mark that he was still going to sing it, "just like you, if that's cool". Mark gave Kurt the go ahead, telling him to play it how he wanted it and that he only sang the song the way he did on his solo album because it was inspired by the way Kurt played guitar on the track. It seems the way Kurt sang this song live (on Unplugged and other performances) was inspired by the way Mark sang it on his solo album with Kurt.
