Some of y’all probably don’t even understand but that’s one of the most important aspect of the game if you want to be pro, that every pro that you know (NBA,Euroleagu…) already know. Even before you going to work on you skill your moves, you need to understand why and how you’re going to use in real game.

I would rather call it "look away crossover" because he pretends to look in a direction as if he was going to call for a play and then he quickly change pace and direction to the cup. What is interesting with john is that he does with both hands and he even have counters.

Its all about taking that last dribble, picking the ball up while gathering and jumping into the space. No different than taking 2 steps after your last dribble for a layup.
@elgriego74
@elgriego74 5 жыл бұрын
Gather or zero step, is the step that a a player naturally takes while in the process of getting hold off or grabbing the ball. That step does not count towards the two steps allowed as the ball is still being dribbled. Once the ball is gathered whether with one(palmed usually) or two hands the foot that the player has on the ground is called the pivot foot and it can be both in which case the player can choose which one he will use. I hear all the time people call on Giannis steps, but they have to realise that Giannis has no pull with the NBA referee association and he is not getting away with it , he just does not travel. Period!!!

Well put!! Its the same thing when Harden throws the ball out in front with a live dribble and jabs to the side before picking the ball up and continuing to take his 2 steps after the pickup. Its an advanced move but completely legal. Thanks for the comments!
