It may not be a particularly long scene of revenge and takes a some time to get to story wise, but in Bleach, Isshin Kurosaki finally killing Grand Fisher as revenge for killing Masaki is pretty great with how smug and cocky Grand Fisher was and Isshin just one shots him. It was nice for the family to finally get some closure and for Grand Fisher to get what he deserved.

And it became forgotten shortly after since it ended on a Crappy Note! Look, I get Japan has a History of Shitty things happening to individual people. But you Gotta remember. If you’re making a story that has a lot of Grimdark, Edgelord bulls**t, At least make the Story Compelling, interesting, and Ends in a way you can live with! It’s not Always about Violent Justification! It’s about the Thematic Message and story. Otherwise you end up like Magical Girl Site, Elfen Lied, or Tokyo Ghoul! Forgotten and tossed in the Dumpster because You didn’t have a Clear Finish line.

Sadly, standing up for yourself in the real world gets you punished by authority figures and it hasn't changed. In fact if there is a gang and you fight back the bully will say you were the instigator and his entire gang will back him up as witnesses. However, tad harder to lie with cameras all around these days but in the 80s such things didn't exist.
