This argument is tired. I see Roy’s point. But after Roy blew up at Fergie in the team meeting, Ferguson shut down and was done. So he wasn’t going to pull Roy aside and talk reasonably with him about retirement. I don’t think Roy understands that just because he can wake up after a blow up and show up the next day, not everyone can. Fergie was done. Did Fergie set him up with Saipan in the back of his mind? Unknown. I love Roy Keane, he’s my favorite player, but he has little insight into how Ferguson who supported him for 12 1/2 years was just finished. Roy is my favorite handful.❤

He actually is not that hard on Ferguson in his book.

Paul Scholes seemed to love playing for England under Glenn Hoddle & Keving Keegan and did really well...............and then Sven Goran Ericksson took over, and it was never the same for Paul, although Sven did ok with England and was unlucky with injuries to key players.

So true, japp stam was utd biggest mistake in getting rid off, more then any other player. I stopped watching arsenal in 2002, and stam cost us at least 2 more titles, he was a beast at the back for man utd Fergie was a total fool thankfully to get rid of his best ever defender, and at least he knows its his biggest mistake.

Once everyone knew alex fergusons secret fergie left man utd, he knew that he could not get away with destroying other teams, when they now knew how he did it. The days of alex ferguson will never be coming back to man utd, he built a house of cards, and once people understood how he did it, it was over for man utd at the top

Fascinating stuff. For me, Glenn was England’s best midfield player of the 80s, while Paul Scholes was the best England midfielder of the late 90s to mid 00s.

Every good player, has that one moment playing in front of enormous amount of people, that they can do stuff and it comes off, and they understand that they can do it at this level All good players must have that single moment when they know they fit in with these players.

The rubbish that comes out of the mouths of Anglo Saxons is astounding. One sees it on football, many former footballers criticising players, managers, asking stupid questions, same on wars, whether Ukraine or Palestine. Just a tsunami of utter b.s..
