It's very pretty. You picked a perfect duo of colors for a young girl. The glow in the dark is fun and the gemstones definitely add an extra pretty element; for kids and adults. Nice job and thanks for sharing ❤
@craftingwithsierra2 күн бұрын
Thank you! I hesitated on using the little gemstones, but I'm very happy I went with it. My granddaughter FaceTimed me at the crack of dawn to see her new jar...😂 she loves the colors and sparkles..I had to stand in the closet to show her the glow in the dark. She lives across country and I send her stuff all the time. ❤️

Purple is my favorite color. I'm sure your granddaughter will love it. A suggestion to make the sticker stand out - pour most of the lid in those colors. Then, add a small amount of white mica to each color and pour that. Leave a little bit of room. Let that set up. Put in your sticker and cover with clear resin. That should give you just enough contrast to make the sticker stand out but still match the jar. I would have loved to see how it glowed in the dark.
@craftingwithsierra2 күн бұрын
That's a great idea! I'll definitely have to try that. Thank you! I tried to take a picture of the jar in the dark to show the glow in the dark, unfortunately that didn't turn out so well.❤️

I absolutely love that technique Sierra… the base of that jar is virtually half n half… really beautiful!! I’m not sure that the sticker adds that much to the piece but, as you said, you can see it better than we can… I do tho, love the addition of the tiny gems! And the effect of just that little bit of glitter in the transparent resin is gorgeous!! It was all just missing a good ole’ police story?!? 😂😂 Lotsa luv from Nat. ♥️♥️🇦🇺
@craftingwithsierra2 күн бұрын
Thank you! No police stories today, I have to really be in the head space to talk about it. As far as this technique, it's one of my favorites! The sticker was a good idea in my head...until I poured the resin. I went with it to see the results, I know not to do that again. The rhinestones were a nice touch! Your interactions always brighten my day, Thank you!
@mattersofthehartbynat88152 күн бұрын
@@craftingwithsierra I can imagine that your stories need to come from the right headspace… I’m sure there are some accounts that are harder than others too. Please accept my apologies, as I didn’t mean to sound pushy… I just want you to know that I/we enjoy them… I’d hate you to think that we are bored by them, and not tell us any more! But, in your own time is perfect! Love ya, Nat. ♥️♥️🇦🇺
@craftingwithsierra2 күн бұрын
I didn't take your comment as pushy at all. I do try to tell stories that are "easy" to hear. I will eventually get into the gritty side of it. Since people don't know me on here, I'm trying to establish that I have a heart..I'm compassionate and empathetic and that's nice and all..but there were many times I had to shelve that part of my personality. I had severe PTSD and it's getting better. My partner (the young officer who rode with me daily) was brutally taken from us and I have survivors guilt..this happened in 2004. Sharing my experiences on video is great therapy for me.

Thank you! I thought about doing that. I actually put a bit of clear aside for that, but realized I didn't mix enough resin, so I thought it was a good chance to find out. I can still make out the image, but I'd definitely do it differently.❤️

Gorgeous little jar, it looks super fancy ❤❤! She's going to love it!! For the bubbles on the lip of the jar, I find that pouring a small amount of resin and gently massaging the lip of the mold for a minute before pouring the rest of the jar. This helps me tremendously with bubbles, I do it for both the cap and the jar. Hope that works well for you as well if you do try it out for yourself. Happy Crafting and have a wonderful weekend!! PS: love working with the resiners resin, thank you for your review of it and honest opinions 🌺🌺

Thank you! I usually do pour small amounts of resin and work it into the molds..I remembered after I filled it. I think I ended up with one tiny bubble on the edge, so not too bad. My granddaughter does love it, I have to get it shipped to her. I like Resiners resin too and will be getting some in the next few days! Have a blessed day!

Thank you! I used white sand (vase filler sand) I mixed it with clear resin, made it like mashed potatoes texture and put it where I wanted. I let it cure and then topped it with black resin. I have full tutorials and product lists, if that would help. Happy crafting!

Definitely not bad at all Darl… you did an awesome job for your first time!! It turned out beautifully. Resin beach/ocean pours is the main thing I do… it’s my bread and butter so to speak… doing and selling these allows me to play with all the other resin techniques! 😁 When I first started doing the beach scenes with waves, it took me 16 pours to get waves that I was happy with… so much trial and error, but I loved them so much, that I was determined to get it right… and, eventually, I did! The main hint I could give you, from watching this video, is… when you drop your white resin, drop it so that it is touching the clear resin, but also touching the dry canvas (I hope that makes sense)… so you’re pouring it right along the back of the clear. That way, when you push the white with your heat gun, you are pushing it over the top of the clear. When you put your white down, you were putting it right on top of the clear, leaving a layer of clear behind the white… so when you heated it and pushed it up, you were pushing clear resin over the top of the white, so the white got diluted (so to speak). And one other thing… it’s hard for me to say for sure (because of the angle of the camera), but I think you were holding your heat gun too upright… if you try lowering your heat gun so that you are almost blowing straight across the top of the canvas. I use the wedding cake attachment on my heat gun as it is more powerful but, having said that, many artists use the platypus nozzle (that’s what you used) and get great results… so I think that is just a preference thing. I’m guessing (well hoping) you know me well enough by now, to know that I am not criticising you in the slightest… I am just trying to help. I am very passionate about resin beach pours, and when I saw the title of this video, I got sooooo excited!! Oodles of love from Nat. (Brisbane, Australia) ♥️♥️🇦🇺

Thank you so much! The white touching both the wet and dry makes perfect sense! I really appreciate you taking the time to offer up some constructive help. I almost scraped this video, but I posted it hoping to get advice and to show the beginner resin artists that we are constantly learning new techniques and there are many fails, half fails even saves. This is definitely a technique where practice is required! ❤️

Not too bad in my opinion! I still have not tried to do it either and it is in my plans for next week to do. I like the idea of trying on the canvas first as well. Thanks for sharing. -Beverly
