Why is it that when you try and make the moment equation starting with the left side it doesn't give you the same equation as starting from the right side if you section the beam? I thought statics should work out whichever way or I'm I doing it wrong?

Yo structurefree now should I always consider my fixed end moments to be clockwise even if I really know their directions due to the applied load in order for this equation to work? Cuz this method seems to not make sense to me because I will have to memorize the formulas for each load type.

Hii, you might not reply to this (12 years old) but I was confused why did you consider Wab for the parts when you found, using instant center.. shouldn't it be Wc first and then we make a vector triangle of Va , Vb and Vab to find Vb and then get Wab from Vab.. If anyone else can reply too, would be helpful...

So everytime you have a hinge, does the hinge become a free end, for example if you have a two fixed end beam with a hinge along the span, it become pin-free, pin-free? Is this similar to the conjugate method?

Great content, but I have a question. When loadings are applied to the member, the member deforms. Then, we use the deformation to back-calculate the bending moment acting on the member. However, at last, we further calculate the bending moment induced by the loadings on the member again!? Wouldn't this duplicate the value we found?
