Everybody wants to blame China for everything that may be or may not be wrong. First, if you have an issue with the quality of the product or if it is safe or made with volatile compounds like asbestos then blame our government, they are the ones who lowered the building standards and the quality standards of materials as part of the free trade agreement. China can't just send whatever they want, our government allows it, all so global companies can make more profit. As for paying for it and it just doesn't get sent, ridiculous, China didn't get to be the global market supplier of 50% of all goods by just keeping the money and not sending the products. Finally the over all attitude that if it's Chinese it's cheap and unreliable, Most major brands including electronics and household goos are manufactured in China, they might be American or Japanese brands etc, but they are made in China. Or just don't buy Chinese, but good luck with that.

I remember looking at these a few years back. Great if you already have land. If you don't, you're buying land, paying a lot of money to join the water and electricity grid. And suddenly you're $100,000+ for something that probably has a 20 guarantee (and less depending on where you live). They would be great for a guest house though or a granny flat

I wonder how many of the negative comments on here are from people who work in the overpriced and low quality construction industry and don't like seeing anything that challenges the junk they build? I know 8 or so people who have bought a newly built home in the last 10 years. Every single one of them have found huge problems in their home. Every single one of them has some level of buyers remorse. Modern housing construction sucks. These newer alternatives, even with a few problems, are interesting. 10 to 20k for a house that lasts 10 to 15 years is still better than 300-450k for a house that lasts 20 before extensive remodeling is required.

Just make sure you’re not in one of the many areas that have tornados, or hurricanes, like my area, and in 5/2024 Iowa just got hit w/ a horrible tornado, and say goodbye to many homes that weren’t prefabs, or mobile homes. Fort Myers, FL area has been hit 2X in the past 20 or so years, and many a mobile home was demolished., including tree, homes, and bridges.

Reminds me of the Chinese dry wall off-gassing of volatile chemicals issue in the US between 2000 - 2010. This was a real problem for us in South Florida because of temperature and humidity.
