Save even more money by using rewards points to travel to these places and the only thing you’d have to pay out of pocket is taxes and excursions, drinks food but at least the airfares will be free and possibly the hotel stays can be free

I recently went and I loved it! a lot of these are really good points but a few are really need to be updated. the food isn’t the best but it’s very basic, it’s definitely not the most bahamian food but some for expensive dishes are the bahamas type food. but every single place closes at 10pm, so get your food early! and for the rooms, they aren’t the best but with all the things you will be doing you will not spend that must time in your room. your room gets cleaned everyday so that’s pretty good. but there is many things that you do get, you obviously get access to the pool but also some certain pools if you are staying in certain towers. you also get a free metal water bottles with free refills for the water refill stations all around the resort. also most sodas you by at food places (in a cup not a can) have free refills! atlantis is really good for teenagers and there parents. but also make sure to explore all over, take that walk. it’s so worth it, especially at night. my brother and I had the best time walking around the resort all around at night. atlantis is really worth it!

Hi Vanessa 👋🏽, my 2 cents: everything travel related has increased, but airfare is the worst. I live in the city with the world’s busiest airport. The flights are always full with people on standby. For a recent trip to Japan, this is what I had to do: I got a one way ticket from home to Seattle on Airline A which had a more affordable price. We used Delta Vacations for Seattle to Tokyo because A. You put a deposit down, then pay the remaining balance off monthly, and B. The route was nonstop from/to Seattle. Flew Airline B home from Seattle using points. I think a lot of folks are using points and rewards to travel during this time. ✈️

I prefer Cabo. The only problem in Cabo is the water being so cold there, in the very few swimmable beaches. I highly recommend Palmillas beach. You have to go through a country club to get there, but the view is gorgeous. There's only a few palapas, so, if you're not going to arrive early, you might want to take your beach umbrella with you. There's clean toilets and showers there, too.

Hi Vanessa 😊 i didn't book any land based trips this year - just local and 2 cruises . I can fly from California to Miami for $450 and see several Caribbean destinations over paying $1000 to fly to one island . I do have a Greece cruise planned for 2025, but the cruise line offered a deal on airfare, so that helps too!!

I think the airlines have ruined travel.. I do not ever see myself getting in a sardine can (plane) again. Flying used to be fun and enjoyable, now they treat you like a criminal the minute you walk into an airport, then they cram you into a seat meant for a toddler with zero customer service anywhere along the way. My last two vacations were awesome, one Amtrak trip and one long car trip, both were great and nowhere along the way was I uncomfortable or treated badly!

I think there have to be travel channels whose numbers are naturally growing from people searching for ways to travel for less, if that is the focus of their channel. But besides that, I wholly agree with your assessment.

Great video as always. I actually have a different opinion. All the trips I've been on have had full (if not overbooked) flights and overly packed locations (and we've seen some of the anti tourist demonstrations). Anyway - i agree that we're getting less value and the flights are definitely more expensive, but ... surprisingly, demand for flights and travel is still high.

Will it ever recover? in my neck of the woods restaurants, parts stores, big box stores, airlines etc have have opportunity to recover but haven't ...why? They are making the same amount of more or more with half the effort or half the staff it is all about the return on investment. It is a chess game someone has to make the 1st move a lower prices or offer something different. Airlines/hotels are not going to lower prices and in return hire more staff buy more planes open more rooms etc to make the same amount of money all about ROI.

Hi Vanessa, This was a great video. It's very educational. I'm happy and grateful that I haven't missed a beat with my annual vacation and birthday trip. I do drive for my birthday trip and fly for my annual vacation. Airfare is a monster. However, from what I experienced, the resorts are full, as are the airplanes. However, in fairness, that was to Cabo, Montego Bay, and Cancun. I don't know what the rest of the world is experiencing. I had friends who recently visited Italy, and they reported the crowds were enormous. I notice that some of the other channels tend to focus on reviewing specific resorts and cruise lines, and that might drive traffic to their channel. I had no idea buying views was a thing. How terrible. Keep up your amazing work. You are the best! 🎉🎉❤

Am I the only one who's got the impression that luxury travel is booming: many 5 stars hotels and resorts keep opening, always with more extravagant offerings (with the price tag that comes with it). So for the rich, there are still plenty of opportunities, but for the others...it is getting trickier indeed.

Hi Vanessa! Great video and great topic. Well I’ve been saying it for years now that cruising just keeps getting more and more expensive and pretty soon they’re gonna price people out of the market, and that’s when the prices will come down. Somehow, I think resort travel is where it’s at for me. I’ve got some really good rates in the past few years even during Covid. Yes it’s more expensive now but you just have to look really hard to get the good rates and flexibility certainly helps. It also helps when you have credit cards that give you free miles for air travel.❤️✈️🛳️

We are from uk and although flights are much more expensive we have changed our travel in that we go much more often but for a shorter time. One disappointment is we used to buy a regular travel magazine but it finished during pandemic and I still miss it for inspiration. We choose to spend our money on travel . An expensive wedding in France this year took a lot of income. But Greece Mexico and Vienna still to come this year ❤❤❤

In order to meet the Paris climate accords the EU is going to have to ration air travel. There have been several articles about limiting air travel to 900 miles per year per person. It’s coming, enjoy the freedom of travel while you can people. The freedom of movement is going away in a few years.

It’s very simple … The ECONOMY is the worst it’s been in fifty years. People have less disposable income; struggling to even buy groceries or gas for the car. Have to cut something in the budget … (you’re right) vacations, especially trips, is a luxury people can no longer afford. And it will change (always does). But, will the economy get back to a point where people can spend on trips again? Will costs come down? … who knows. Time will tell. And it’s not just customers … costs to operate and maintain resorts and cruise ships is at an all-time high. Many will close. I hope some survive. Great video … and timely. Thank you 🙏🏻

For my husband and myself, it has become more about safety, Of course affordability is a concern as well. We have been going to Riviera Maya and surrounding area for over 20yrs, but no longer feel as safe there as we once did. This year we went to Aruba. And yes, it can be expensive. But it doesn't have to be either. I would not recommend AI resorts(so many restaurants to choose from). We stayed at The Courtyard by Marriott in which daily breakfast and choice of evening apps or dessert was included. it was walking distance to beach and restaurants on the strip. Many restaurants offered daily specials and happy hour. For example Taco Tuesdays at Lola's for $1 tacos. Our room also came with mini fridge and microwave. So we purchased our own drinks and snacks. The cost for 2 weeks all in was comparable to a 5 star property in Mexico such as The Valentin, Now Sapphire or Majestic Elegance. NO SARGASSUM, pristine beaches and fabulous weather. We are already booked for 2025.

@Passport_Pages I would love to see someone like yourself, who people trust, do a review of suitable resorts for retirees. We don't want loud music all day at the beach and pool, we want at least average quality meals without reservations, access without stairs in the resort, access to the ocean without rocks.

Hi Vanessa, as always, great info. We normally cruise 3 times a year.We now cruise once a year and try to book a 2nd cruise. A couple of cruise companies, for example, NCL, have tripled their prices. Hi!! Thank you for sharing your experience. That's insane about Norwegian, but I shouldn't be surprised. I never been on a cruise and looking to do one for my 40th Birthday next summer with a friend who is also turning 40. But we want specially Icon of the Seas which is I know crazy expensive but if were serious were planning to book next month into Sept. Everything Vanessa said its on par, this summer looks like I wont be travelling which would make it the first summer not including 2020 and 2021 due to pandemic that I wont. We did Mexico the last two summers. But now looking at next year Icon of the Seas is coming in at 3400 something for 1 week balcony room and that does not include our flights from Toronto we would need to pay separate. For that price we can go to a high end resort in Mexico or even Jamaica or any destination for two weeks. It’s nuts but at the same time it is a special bday and you only do it once. I haven’t looked into NCL only Royal mostly and no interest in Carnival. Any tips?
