Real nice place! Haha...poison ivy. Had it so severe dermatologist wanted me to be admitted to hospital. Nah, I dealt with it. It always came back though, starting in the same place for about 5yrs. Couldn't go near a forest without it starting to itch. Doc told me the tale of 2 hunters that came to her suffering from it. The one poor soul used it to wipe his butt. She said she'd never seen a man cry so much. I've been battling DSV in the hood here in Scarborough for about 10yrs. It's only about 50' x50', however I back onto the Rouge so it's gonna be a lifelong battle. I learned the hard way that pulling is useless and that cutting will at least weaken it. I now use a heavy duty waterproof tarps. For me, the cheap blue ones ripped to easy and let the smallest of light in that kept them alive. Like all plants DSV needs sun and water to survive so you've gotta refuse it any/all. I rather enjoy gathering a handful of stems near the ground at once, slashing them with a nice sharp sickle. This season I'm going to try using a brush dipped in Round Up on those cut stems. I want them to suck that stuff right up! Many thanks for sharing that grass whip thingy. I think I shall add that to my arsenal. Best of luck with the DSV!
