Hi Aaron, I have a concrete soakwell in my backyard in QLD that is fed from two down pipes from the house. When it rains, the soakwell is overflowing onto the lawn in the backyard and pools. What actions do you suggest? I was thinking first trying to take the metal lid off the well and shovel out any debris (leaves etc) to see if that helps.
@AaronHahnStudios5 ай бұрын
QLD has some really heavy rains alright. I feel you. If you didn't make the soak well then I can only suggest a full dig out like I had to & fix it right once and for all. email me some photo's & I will do the best I can from the other side of the sandpit to help. I promise.

Hello Aaron, with the lack of water and the heat wave of the last few years, the ground under our house has moved and we have cracks in the walls and on the tiles.Thanks for your demonstration. It's interesting, because the cracks are hard to repair. Often they come back.This wall is beautiful, I really like this style! Congratulations, it's a great job.

Thanks Sylvie. Yes you really do need to fix the problem of "why" its cracking first. Sadly that is usually the most expensive part of the problem.

G'day. Yeah the bricks I picked up for free by asking around and just grabbing left overs over a period of time. Cement $10, sand came from the ground. The rest was all the plastic fittings & things. They really add up quick. The slabs I picked up from a guy who repaved his house & wanted the old slabs gone.

@@AaronHahnStudios ... nice work, but to be honest, you're preaching to the converted here ... I don't know if you remember but way back when I got some advice off you (via email - Gold Coast retaining wall) about what I initally thought was a 6 month job ... anyhoo, 3 years later I'm about half way through it 🙄- to be fair I had to make some adjustments / improvements to which I had to adapt and overcome but I have to say it's turning out pretty well ... but as you did, along the way I focused on getting freebies, give-aways and specials and it's literally, without a word of a lie, saved me thousands ... times are a-changing though, life's getting tougher and what people were giving away for free a couple of years ago, just to get rid, they are now looking to get some money back ... such is life

Thanks for this great video Aaron. I have exactly the same problem with my 15+ year old CF50. Your video helped me big time to work out where to apply pressure to get the base cover off and what type of force I could use without breaking anything. I couldn't have done it otherwise. I reckon your cut and join solution is the way to go. It saves a lot of extra messing around and routing the wires. I've just ordered my replacement thermistor and awaiting to install. Thanks again for putting in the effort to make a video to help people like me and others. You're good man.

Wonderful to read. Actually we think its a bad video as it is way to long. We have learnt our lesson now an edit our video's a lot more, but I am glad it helped anyhow. After the repair I came up with an idea for a tool to make to help lift the cover off more easily. But it took jumping in the deep end to figure that out. Oh well. 😉

I regret putting in out fiberglass pool. This maybe a solution down the road. However have you heard of lifting the pool out and re selling liner, pump, filter and such. Anyway thanks for the tutorial. Definitely gives options.
@AaronHahnStudios11 ай бұрын
The pool was lifted by cane into the backyard when the house behind did not exist. Today the size crane to lift that buckled sun hardened pool would require a crane costing over $25,000. We did sell the pump and all the fencing to a nice couple around the corner of this property. Thanks for watching.
