Poor hungry fox, just trying to get to the eggs the property owner regularly leaves out for it! That effin' cat is wearing a collar, so it has a home with readily available food, it has NO business being territorial it's NOT the cat's turf or the cat's food, it's just doing what cat's do best, being entitled A-HOLES. It's disgusting how they always go for the eyes, essentially trying to blind the other animal even in the smallest, non-threatening confrontations, i've seen one actually try to claw out the eyes of a tiny curious puppy! Thankfully the puppy moved on time and only got the bridge of his nose slashed before we got over there to intervene and get the cat away from it but wtf??? The cat was twice the tiny puppy's size!!! I know lots of folks love them and some cats don't behave like typical cats, but aside from the rare exception, cats are miserable, evil beasts.

My take is that the fox sees the cat as competition, not as prey. It’s trying to intimidate the cat, or harass it into leaving. I’m guessing there is good hunting, probably mice, around that building (looks like a shed).

The fox just wanted to pass by to collect the eggs I leave out but the cat owns the roof and all that it see's, foxes tend to be keep there distance from cats if they can.

@@blushingviolet5928 It was the fox that needed help if you'd read other comments were I told the story you'd have realised your error. I was approx 1 mile away from the incident on a bus watching on my phone as I leave eggs out for the fox and it usually arrives in my garden via one of two routes one which is via the shed roof but on this occasion the cat was there. So 1 mile away on a bus with local speed limits of 20 MPH I would never have got there on time to save the fox. See for and cat again video which I 'film' so 19th century, with a digital PVZ surveillance camera i.e I can control it remotely.

An enemy thrice its size, yet it did not flinch or give up an inch even while sitting on the slippery roof. In India there is a saying that the cat is the big aunty of all other cats. It taught everything to other big cats, yet never as good as itself. Nobody can shoot up a tree as fast it, fish in rivers (fishing cats) as well as it, swim like it although it does not like it, or hang upside down on branches (only clouded leopard can do it), or take a flying leap from heights without even thinking. Also it has the fastest reaction time of all cats. Watch a cat playing with a cobra. Other cobra busters like mongoose or badgers make a big fuss with all the acrobatics, while cat make it looks like a normal days work. But the best is whatever it does it does with a grace that is always that bit more than other big cats.
