Play the main game first before you think about buying the DLC special edition. Souls games aren't for everyone. They're really hard and difficult to play, especially as a complete beginner. There is a tutorial but it only explains the basic controls and many people don't even get that right because they don't read properly and, for example, constantly forget something rudimentary like lock on and then wonder "why the game is so hard". You can't get into the DLC anyway until you've defeated two of the hardest bosses in the game, namely Rahdan (the huge guy with the two swords in the trailer) and the Prince of Blood, who you also have to find first, because as I said apart from the tutorial, hardly anything is explained to you.

It’s not that low of an impossibility. But I do like how they acknowledge that you go back whether you succeed to a certain extent or die rather than just expecting you to die.
