Great video and history of the bait, love this type video, I’m assuming that the dice has a fast sink rate or that water is shallow because you started working the bait not long after it hit the water and you said you was working along the bottom

Come fish lower Colorado River with me 🤙 I know some backwater off the main channel with zero angler pressure. Action is fast and hot with topwater and crank bait action. Make great content it’s magnificent scenery too. Check out Cibola down to Picacho (I will delete this after you see it 😂)

Size and type hook you used with it? Thx
@AnglerWaki4 күн бұрын
This particular one is Spin Muscle. The brand recommends using a size #4 hook. Personally, I prefer using a bigger hook, so I opt for sizes #1 or #1/0.

I know there are many lures based on concepts that someone originally came up with. I have such lures in my tackle box and I even love some of them. That's how the industry works, and that's fine. However, there are also many poor copies. While checking out some online sites, I can see the bad copies labeled as 'Dice Rubber.' Some even use the brand name 'OSP.' There's no respect at all for copyright and property rights. I've also heard that theft and leakage of molds are becoming a problem. That's something I can't respect.

My Japanese friend Yasunori Imai sent me a package of the Issei Shizumi Mushi, in the largest size. I did not realize at first that I should be fishing them weightless, and the first time I used one, I put it on a 1/16 oz jighead. I caught quite a few fish on it rigged that way. Since then, I have tried fishing them weightless, but have not had much success with it. So I put it on a 1/16 jighead again, and it worked better for me.

Are you just casting out, letting it sink to the bottom and just sit there? Seems like your reeling is in a small bit every 30 or 40 seconds. Are you lifting or perking or dragging it a bit?

I like the swivel method for drop shot because you can tie on the hook, and then tie the leader whichever way is up. I find putting the line through the eye again has weakened the knot.

Thank you, Waki I really like that bait! I have two questions I hope you will answer. 1) Where do you buy the eyes you use? That addition to the bait really made the bait appealing. Some days we are just not fishing where the fish are 2) I am curious if Spotted Bay Bass are good to eat? I know you throw them back but are they good to eat?

Eyes are coming together with the lure. Spottie is okay to taste I'd say.
