@McAwEsOmE119 sry, this makes no sense. you can see the aurora borealis so your cam does. maybe you have to set longer shutter speed and higher iso value (more photosensitive). your cam is sensitive to the same "light"-band as your eye. btw, great footage! i wish someday to see this natural phenomena live!

@hearty221 Wiki "aurora (astronomy)" Wikipedia might be biased trash for many things, but the astronomy community keeps it updated and detailed fairly well to be quite informative for questions like yours. I also hope you do someday get to see it live. flovholm, is there a non-timelapse version you can post of this exact same clip? That would even more impressive, IMHO, because it shows how vibrant and lively it really is. Yes, I used to live around Fairbanks, Alaska.. :)

@bitchyWitch93 That's true, central Alaska usually sees fall end and winter begin around mid-October usually and then persist until mid to late April (although I've heard of signifficant snow in May happening). I think October is actually one of the snowiest months if I'm not mistaken.

How did you pan the camera at Earth's rotational speed? I've been thinking about doing a video like this, too. Great job!

wow amazing, I live in Washington state and in the middle of summer it gets completely dark at about 10:30pm and starts to get light around 4:30am.

Looks like late March-early April here in Altoona, PA. Usually we get our last big snowstorms in early March and then in late March it warms into the 40s but occasionally cools off and snows again, and we usually get one last snowstorm in early April before all's said and done.

I live there it really is amazing to see :) It is like nothing else in the world when those lights are dancing above you head. But, even if you live here it is still rare to see them sometimes we only get one small one a winter it is worth it though

@niceley335 Zomg, something I don't understand...that must mean that some invisible guy in the sky is making it happen. It's the only logical conclusion.

I went to Fairbanks in Winter Dec 01 2008. For 2 nights that i stayed.. There were no aurora seen for the thick clouds that hide the sky.. Would love to see it one day..
