Thanks for your interest! I am trying this year to get it mastered again and hopefully at the end of the year will be finally able to put it out to streaming platforms or on vinyl through my label or a different label. This unfortunately is a major work project….

@sentimental7167 in the opening aria. Sounded to me as if (assuming a sequencer was used) there might have been errors in the programming or operation. Sometimes a bass note I was expecting would occur a bit late, etc.

I had the exact two lenses that you are using in this video. However, I had the Leica IIIf camera. They were given to me by my uncle, these lenses produce very nice pictures. Sometimes I will use an adapter and covert them for use on my Sigma FP L (60M pixel) camera body, pictures captured through these lenses with the latest technology really show how well these lenses were made in those days.

I had a Elektron Rytm I, also found, the analog sounds not that great and the pads were horrible. Sequencer definitely is superior though.

The analog sound of this box is really great. Really snappy. I use an MBase 11 for kick sounds together with Elektron Syntakt and Digitakt. Used to have an mfb Tanzmaus, but aside from the kick it was no match.

Not yet. I am working on remastering the full set but due to two harddisk crashes recently I have lost 1/4 of the original song files, so I can only master the existing mixes. I will post here, when I am ready for an upload at Bandcamp.

Maybe… it was an experiment to try with slide film and I have to say I like the colours. Originally, I was planning on using Cinestill 800T but just that day it was sold out and I couldn’t find a roll. Best film is the one you have in your camera.

Some really beautiful pictures! Especially in black-and-white. Contratulations. - You are pretty right, the Contax RF is absolutely underrated on the market. I just visited the cities of Leipzig and Dresden with a Contax II, a Contax IIa and the well-known four lens collection. It was a real pleasure.

Hello Michael, congratulations! It must be a treat to shoot Dresden´s treasures with a camera that´s a treasure in its own right. Just like LOTHAR GÜNTER BUCHHEIM shot Paris with his ContaxII before, during, and after WW2. His book "Mein Paris" inspired me to buy my ContaxII.

Hi, thanks for watching. This camera doesn’t have a lightmeter of any sort, so put in any ISO you like.

BRAVO!!!!, I love it, and to have Billie Holiday song makes it so much enjoyable to see your images, and song agrees with the mood. And your way of capturing the images with a 60 year old camera proves that you do not need a Expensive Camera $$$, it is your imagination, and your eye.. I too have my Dad's Contax IIa, but it needed work as I use it when I was in High School, but I too love the camera so I got myself a Contax II, and III, and with Carl Zeiss Jena lenses that I was blessed with the Sharpness, and Contrast. I thank you for your video....📸📸📷📷📸📸

I like the Kiev more, the viewfinder is alot better and its way cheaper! But it's the same quality and reliability, I've got a very early version before the machinery started to wear out

If you ignore some short comings, I think the Contax looks better than a Leica, both the result and the camera itself.

Yes, I think so too, they are really interesting cameras and lenses are great imho. The finder is definitely worse than that of a M, but then most rangefinders are. But the rangefinder patch I find very usable.

Thanks! Like mentioned in the comment, for normal most of the time is a 1,5/5cm CZJ Sonnar from 1949, a 2/85 Sonnar and the CZ 2.8/ 35mm Biogon.

This camera and lens was my first camera in 1959. It cost me the princely sum of $70, big money at age 13. It was in good shape, and it always functioned properly. However, the film advance and shutter cocking was very stiff at higher shutter speeds. The lens, both fast and uncoated, suffered very low contrast and high flare. Uncommon for Zeiss historically, the internal lens mount is weak and easily damaged if camera is banged on the lens. (Not a good look for Nikon when they adopted it for some reason.) Most of the lenses do not rangefinder couple, which is not a problem because today in the US, finding lenses for that system is nearly impossible. So, if you are thinking about buying one of these and must do so, buy it with the superior 50mm 2.0 Sonnar.. If you are on the fence, have your best friend punch you in the face, then move on.

Nice story, thanks for sharing! Actually, I got this camera many years ago with it’s original lens, a prewar coated 1,5/5cm Sonnar, which, like the camera, is like new. I had to wait many years though for a decent repair guy who fixed the shutter straps an cleaned the slow gears (have another one I could use in between…) Banging the lens/ camera is never a good idea, but yes, you can damage the mount - on old LTM Leicas you bend the body… old technology… I have been assembling a lens line up (as far as they are affordable) for these for the past twenty years and often use a 2/8,5cm Sonnar and the 3,5cm Biogon, both prewar and both coated. They do flare, but often than can give a pretty vintage look on the image 😉.
