I don’t see a video detailing what kind of performance you ended up getting out of all the mods. Your work looks awesome though!

I just picked up a heavy hauler. This is a great video. Do you have a follow up showing the completed work and what you think of the changes?

Anyone in your group 6'2" 220lbs? I'm wondering if I'll fit. For instance, the Zenith 701 is a no go for someone my size

You have created a spindle-moulder there. One of the more hazardous machines in any cabinet or joinery workshop. Prudent to take the extra precautions. I like the simple wing construction! 👍🏻

I love this video! I know people talk about buying kits, and building aircraft. But this is interesting, because it shows why you brought the kit that you bought, and what the actual airplane is like. Thank you for this helpful video. By the way, I found your channel on the aviation, content creators page. Keep doing what you’re doing. Fly well! New sub!

Hey Ian, did your Yamaha engine meltdown? I was surprised to see your plane mod didn't have any systems in place to prevent overheating.

Why use 2 fuel pumps? My university's team has gotten our engine into starting condition (not an easy engine to figure out) but just need to figure out how to get it to start.

What would you say the total weight of the engine and prop is with, and without the mount. Great video presentation by the way!

I have owned a bead blasting cabinet, from harbor freight, for about 35 years. It has a Tacoma company retrofit kit installed which made it 400% more effective. It's worth it's weight in gold for how it transforms ugly parts into beautiful ones. If I was a little younger, I'd make a water blaster & have the parts come out much more beautiful than just plain bead blasting. The finish is as good, if not better, than brand new, depending on the quality of the parts you acquire.

I'm about two years behind on this so my observations might not be correct....... that engine looks like it needs to be glass beaded ( walnut shell is really good too ) back to a better looking condition... as for the Chinook,... 10+ on that great little plane.... should be Lots-O-Fun to putt around in.😁👍👍.

I see you doing all of this. The question that is coming to mind is do you have your A&P? Even through this is a lightsport, doesn't the FAA have to approve all of these alternations?

Great videos, Ian! I have a Challenger II CWS I built and I love the way it flies. But I and my wife are in our 70s and my wife has stopped flying with me because of the difficulty of getting in and our of the plane. So far I don't have an issue, but I am getting older every year😀 How is ease of getting in and out of the Chinook?? If you have flown a Challenger, how found you compare the flight experiences? Thanks, Lanny

Just wondering what happened with this build? Interest roused again with the Dan Reynolds win against Steve Henry at the recent Texas STOL (Gainsville). Steve had the takeoff every time, but Dan landed shorter for the win!!!

A friend of mine built a Quick Build RV6. It was the 53rd kit and finished in 98. Great flying airplane. I always wanted to build an RV8 but engine prices have risen more than my income! Enjoy yours!
