So where is the chirp coming from exactly? The hydroboost pump assembly? Or the master itself? Does anyone know?

It’s the accumulator motor case, commutator and brushes. Corrosion and direct contact of parts causes the noise. (I dissected the unit weeks after I shot the video).

Hey, installing new injectors, is there a specific order they have to be installed in for each cylinder. Also what kind of tape is used around the injector foam coverings?
@ForwardMomentum5 күн бұрын
No order on this engine. I heard that the 3UZ might have “sides” but on the 1UZ VVTi it’s all the same P/N. Unsure of the tape for foam. I assume high heat. I just left it off my injectors. Pretty sure it’s for noise and I couldn’t care less about that.

I have LS430 wheels on my GS, I might snag some and see if I like them. I love the 430 wheels so much, never plan on ditching them for aftermarket. OEM+ for life
@SunsetAlgorithm6 күн бұрын
I'd love a 430 because frankly no replacement for displacement, but I am not an aggressive or spirited driver in any way. I have a 300 with zero modifications to anything, not even exhaust. But I think that suits me, I love the dependability of a untouched (other than maintenance) engine. Other than the occasional CEL, which is quickly taken care of I know every time I turn that key I could take that car anywhere without hesitation. That being said, I have put a fair sum of money into the sound system. And as much as I'd like the roar of a V8, I love music so loud and clear I can feel it. My little granny gold 300 is long, sleek and low, and has the acceleration of a glacier lol.

You made a quick comment about losing vsc when you went to a manual. Can you please elaborate on that? I can't stand the vsc on mine and will be going manual soon hopefully. Do you still have abs?
@ForwardMomentum13 күн бұрын
Yes. I cover this in my MT swap series. If you go with some transmissions you lose VSC because there are no longer two VSS’s installed. On my AR5 I am able to install one VSS, but it’s reading off a planetary gear that is a completely different tooth count than the A650E, therefore VSC system does not work and the ECU thinks the car is going almost twice as fast as it really is, limiting my top speed to 85MPH. My speedo, odo, ABS all work. That’s part of the WSS system on the hubs.

@ForwardMomentum29 күн бұрын
I do not have the part number. You literally have two carrier choices and if it has bolts on the side, that’s what you want. I went back to 3.2 from 3.7. When you ask what I would recommend, do you mean LSD or ratio? For that type of power I’d recommend a 3.2 ratio. Also, the CBS helical LSD is just awesome, so I’d go with that. 👍

@ForwardMomentumАй бұрын
$200 vs $2000? Plus, we have proven that AFC works. In fact, my friend has the same set up, with a TVS1900 and 400WHP. So I have no argument against a standalone at all, but in terms of finances I think it’s overkill. I have guys telling me all the time “but you can get a used standalone for $1000.” Oh really, what about the custom wiring harness, set up and tuning sessions? Add at least $1K to that. In the end I might be leaving 10-20HP on the table and a bit of a safety margin, but the goal was to show viewers that you can supercharge these things safely on a relative budget. 👍

If there’s a budget standalone that works I’m all ears. I have yet to find one that is recommended that’s under $1000 for just the unit. Regarding the NEO they come up in places all the time used or similar. Mine was $220 new on FBM as I found a guy that just didn’t use his and had it new in a box. When it comes to standalones I would go with units that gurus recommend only, such as Kelvin at CarTuneNZ.
