I just did this to a Fender Paramount that I picked up cheap due to the Bridge lifting and the belly forming. I removed the Bridge and sanded it down and reglued it. Thankfully, It worked quite well due to the bridge being so tall.

Hi Randy. I finally found that Johnson guitar I've been searching for for a very long time. The JD-27SN. Found plenty of the 27s and the Recording King ones but I've been looking for the Solid top back and sides model for ever. This is one I won't be selling. It's an awesome guitar and Greg Rich really put some effort into these. They gave their issue's but a lot of good guitars tend to have them. Some of the back bracing I've reglued and I can see a belly issue in the distant future hopefully, but other than that it's as good as a Martin. Playability not as much but I will be having a think about what I can do to improve that before I start doing anything. Hope you managed to find one in the end. Took me 10 years to find it and someone thought they were scamming me as they put the lightest electric strings on it to hide the noises. Just goes to show that some good can come out of getting scammed. I think I scammed him. I always knew they were good but you just confirmed it when I watched your video. Cheers Al

I have a double action truss rod that I cannot adjust, the nut will not turn righty or lefty. Unstrung, the neck has a back bow, at pitch there is maybe .004" relief. Do you have any suggestions on how to get the truss rod to loosen up?

What type of amp? and did you have Peddles Hooked to it? I sold all of My Electric Guitar stuff because I could not Find that sound I just Herd. So How Did You Get it? WARNING!! ToneRite gladly took my money but never sent me the devices. When I emailed them numerous times about the status of my order they would not respond. When I tried to call their number numerous times the call went to a busy tone. They also disconnected the ability to write a review of their business,service and products. I emailed them and threatened to file complaints if they at least didn't respond to my emails and they refused. So here it is... It's not a business you want to have anything to do with.

One thing about them Specials is that are not so special, but make for great bones to make them better.

Man, I have an cheap les paul jr from Epiphone and something is really messed up with it, I can't keep that G string from slipping flat with bends and that bridge/saddle keeps tipping forward, one of those wrap-around bridges. It's got me stumped, but I think I just gotta bite the bullet in and buy new tuners for the thing and hope that it fixes itself. Outside of a new nut 'cuz I have a new one already, do you have any tips on how to keep that one string from going really flat on bends? Anyway, good to see you still around! I love learning from you. I also think your hands are more steady in this one than I've seen in past videos. Nice!

Have you tried daddario xs strings? I think the coating on them is about 7 microns thick, so thinner than elixers, but thicker than the martins, and they last a super long time. I think they have a bit of a brighter tone than normal uncoated strings. The coating definatly changes the tone a bit. And the feel is a little bit smoother than normal strings also.

My dad had this in the 70s. Had it since the 60s. I bought some and fixed a ruined Gibson pickup in under 5 minutes. Great video. The stuff is $13 on Amazon.
